Still hate the shootout, but if we see more Russian Goalie Funk, then bring 'em on.
The Flyers did dominate play for stretches, but I really would have liked to see more of a killer instinct and build off their lead after the first period. |

Good or bad, the shootout is part of the game, and can make the difference in seeding. Bob seems much better at them than Bryz right now, and I was pretty confident after the glove save on Weiss that we had it. I hope Bob keeps playing this well, and that Bryz sorts his game out also. I want to see them both have success so we can catch those (frank)ing Rangers. |

watch out...alert alert...
the media is stirring the goalie controversy pot again
great finish heading into the break. Time to get healthy
with all the injuries and coming up with 5 out of 6 points....good sh!t.

That Bob guy looks pretty good. - bradleyc4
He's been pretty darn good all season, very impressive.
His puck handling has improved to the point that he's not average he's actually really good.

Bob had swagger last night. During the shootout after his second save, he flipped the puck out of his glove with a flurry and a dismissive smirk as if to say, "get this junk outta here". Then the arms raised and the dance afterward. The kid is oozing confidence and is making his case....quite effectively. |

yes, I want Bryz playing well.
If he can play like a #1 goalie and has shown that he is just that the Flyers goaltending will be in great hands going forward. |

i agree with that, but that's the one part of bob's game last night which i thought was poor. he had communication issues behind the net several times with his d got in the way more often than not. he was still outstanding - loved his game. |

i really don't care about the Rangers. they may be peeking too soon but i'm more interested in seeing the Flyers get healthy and play with some consistency.
Bob or Bryz...it doesn't matter. Both can co-exist at this time. When the time is needed the right goalie will be chosen to handle the workload. |

it happens every once in a while but i don't like when he slides too far out of the crease. he basically takes himself out of the play 100% |

Thoughts on Gusty and Sestito?
Gusty I see making some young Dman mistakes and then I see him make some solid rushes and plays and I can see the talent. Young Dmen, it's a learning process, I hope the Flyers give him some time and relax with him.
Sestito, you get the good with the bad. If he can stop leaving his feet and running around on hits I think he can be a solid 4th liner. I really love the size he adds. I am a Rinaldo and HarryZ fan but I take the bigger guy who can contribute equally.
I see some positives and negatives in both. |

Bob did a great job, both in the game and in the shootout. It's mirrored his performance for most of the year. While it's encouraging, I wouldn't say that Bob is a shootout machine. Florida has been almost as bad at the gimmick as the Flyers.
The Flyers never should have let it get to a gimmick, but obviously happy they won and happy that Bob got it done. I believe that is his first win in the gimmick in his career. |

I'd like to see them push to catch them, but as you say, it only matters how you are playing at the time you enter the playoffs. In fact, we are so much better on the road than at home, maybe we should aim for the 5 seed! |

I like Gus it's just a learning curve right now. I'm liking how the team is playing the rookies on D-man. I don't know what will happen during the playoffs but right now they are holding their own.
Sestito...yeah he left his feet near the very end but i still don't think it was a penalty. I like his size and he can skate.
the competition to stay in the lineup will be fun to watch.

Gustafsson has been pretty good for them. He's made some rookie mistakes, but he doesn't let them get him off his game. He's good with the puck and not bad in his own end.
Sestito, I agree with your assessment. He keeps his game under control and he can be a real effective 4th liner, who could step up to the 3rd line for stretches. Love the physical side, just got to rein it in a bit.

Not sure whether it was his first or not. Either way, glad to see him get the win. Maybe it shouldn't have gotten that far, but don't forget how many injuries this team has right now.. a ton. |

don't get me wrong i would like to see them catch them but i would rather them catch them by winning and playing consistent.
I love watching teams catch on fire in December/Jan and then flame out. I hope this happens with the Rangers. We shall see.
when it comes to winning the cup, teams need to be playing at their best but in my opinion need to have some luck on their side with their path... |

I'll start, I am wanting the flyers to go with Bryz after the break and if he is average I go with Bob and if he plays like he has been the last couple of weeks then I run with him.
I would love to see Bryz with the cocky body language after wins and start dominating.
He who plays better plays more. |

Teams like Boston and the Rangers haven't had the injury issues that we have, so it's a really good sign that our young team has navigated it's way this far this well. |
