Welcome aboard, Jeff. Good stuff.

Nice job handing me my ass in the Dynasty league this week, too. Dammit.

If I missed any blogs before, sorry, but happy to have a Blues blogger on the site. Was a serious hole. Welcome.

In terms of Shanahan, it's better but it's veiled transparency. No consistency.

Good to see the Blues lay an egg sunday. As a Wings fan, I have watched us come through the most difficult stretch in years, 14 of 19 on the road, return home, sweep a six game homestand only to still see you guys toooooo close in the rearview. One hell of a team game Hitch has brought in, the Blues are tough and disciplined and for real.
I think the Wings will capture the division because St. Louis has 8 home games, 23 road down the stretch. At home the Blues rival the Wings. On the road they are poor. Still, a solid four seed that nobody wants to play.
I have watched a lot of your team, the most underrated player in the league bar none is Vladimir Sobotka. I know, 3 goals but he is plus 15 usually going against other teams top lines. I love players like this, I know it is hyperbolizing a bit but his game reminds me of Bob Gainey. Anyway, good luck in the first round with the four seed, do the best division in hockey proud.

Great to have you Jeff... Having a consistent Blues blog is way overdue.

Now... about those pesky Blues. It's about time this team finally lost a game. Good grief, it's been frustrating having you guys in Detroit's rear view window for so long. This Blues team has a freakin' scary defense and your depth in goal is sick. This team looks like it's built for the playoffs... but, like Detroit you'll need to get more wins on the road. Ken Hitchcock is one of the best coaches in the NHL. He is exactly what this team needed. Hitch has always been a defense first coach an he has this team playing to it's full potential. What I like about this team is that they play physical and work hard... nuts & bolts hockey team.

This is a very good assessment of the situation Jeff. If there were a trade out there that could improve this team that's one thing, but this team needs to fix this issue inside their own room.

When you comletely dominate a team like the Blues did yesterday in the first period but by the end of two it's only 1-0, you haven't done your job.

Had they buried their chances and it were 3-0 after one period, you'd have a different game.

By my count the Blues are 1-6-1 on the road against the Central. That's a cause for concern. I doubt they're going to get matched up against the Islanders in the playoffs.........

The only hole I see on this team is offensively they need their finishers to do exactly that... finish and be able to do it on the road. Not sure if bringing in a sniper or two would help but might be worth it.

Sobotka is one of those guys where if all you look at is the stat sheets or your fantasy lines each night, you don't get why he's valuable. He infuriates the number crunches and pipe dreamers, but those who appreciate the nuances can't help but love the kid. He has the "never ending motor" that Midwesterns fawn over.

I wish the Blues would learn something from the Wings while their watching their taillights pull away.
