How the hell do we trade Quincy for him?
Quincy has been one of our best D's all season. |

Adding Downie was a great move, but at the expense of Quincey I don't know. |

There have been a ton of rumors that winnik is being shopped. The avs did need to improve their bottom 6 and this really helps. Its a good move in sense of building a playoff team.
Downie for Quincy was a good even trade that will really help both clubs |

I'm not so sure about that. Quincey might be frustrating but he's got a lot of skill. |

I think it was a very fair trade. TB thought pretty high of downie. The avs ended up trading a Dman for a forward as well.
We traded quincy for a young talented roster player that helps the avs need on offense. Where else were you going to find a trade that didnt offer up just random prospects and picks |

I am now hearing TB has traded Kyle Quincey to DET. Working on details but sounds like Quincey to DET for a first-round pick. Verifying.

Well, he's going to have the rest of the year to show us what he can do, then I would agree with another post, McLeod's days are probably numbered.
He's soon to be 25 and has scored 20+goals few years ago....i think for the rest of this season, he probably plays 2nd line some shifts to open up space for the skilled players???
i guess we gotta give this trade a chance, but it would have been nice to get a draft pick as well. |

wow - Tampa flipped him. The pick will be between 24-30th?
so what would have been better - Quincy to Detroit for a 1st or to Tampa for Downie? |

For the AVs? How about TB? They've been looking for someone on the backend since the off-season they finally get a younger piece to fit in with the core and they flip him to Detroit. |

I'd take Downie. That first is more than likely going to take year to develop if ever. Downie will be a good fit for now and the future. |

Downie is worth more than a probably the 30th pick in the draft. The avs would never trade with det anyways |
