I’ve been to MSG, Montreal and Tampa to watch my beloved Sabres play.
Going to Vancouver to watch the Sabres play sometime would be tops on my list.
I can only dream as it would be one of the hardest to get to.
Gotta like to the 1970 connection! |

Not sure how much others have made the same connection, but this trade immediately reminded me of the Drury trade. A quality centre under the radar for some reason that the Sabres got for less than what I thought it would take. Hopefully the results are similar.
Hopefully Kassian and Gragnani live up to their potential because the Canucks would be hard to beat if they both did. |

Classy classy stuff. thank you so much for putting into perspective these ignorant buffalo bashings. these guys are just trying to get into a rivals head and are attacking the city as a whole to do it. very classless. |

With so many rumours about the trade ,usually where there is smoke there is fire. It could have been as simple as MG realizing his chances of re-upping Cody were impossible ,and with a chance at the cup it was time to get a significant piece for the future and playoffs .
3-1

I think so. Canucks have luxury already .They need the workers to provide the space to operate. |

One of these years I'm going to do it. It would probably entail flying to Seattle, renting a car and driving up to Vancouver since the only thing worse than gas prices these days in North America is airfare into or out of a Canadian city (it's why 40% of the Buffalo Niagara Airport's customers are Canadian), but it's definitely a place I want to go. |

Great, great point. Although Buffalo got smaller, and size is something they lack, they are also majorly deficient in playmakers, and Cody seems to fit that bill. I really liked Kassian, and was looking forward to watching him develop into a 20-25 goal, 100 pim juggernaut, but we need playmakers...
We have decent depth at winger in AHL and NHL level, but top tier centerman just don't come along often |

doesn't cody have something like 1 more assist than goals or 1 more goal than assists? i think he will be a pommer type player. plus it's only his third game with us, those scoring chances will start going in. |

I have a firm belief that Buffalo fans are by far the best in the league. They are as classy as they come! Vancouvers big run last year left me and most of the true Canucks fans hating the bandwagon fans in this city and eventually the rioters. I would kill for more fans in Vancouver like the incredible buffalo fans I've talked to over the years. They're educated, level headed, and for the most part unbiased. When we traded CoHo away I was broken hearted, but I'm glad he went to an organization as great as Buffalo. I know that the fans will take care of our favorite son. I'm looking forward to a great game tonight. I'll be standing when CoHo hits the ice, and if he scores, I'll cheer. Great kid! |

Back in the pre-season I predicted a Sabres-Canucks final for the cup, like most of my predicts it doesn't look like it'd gonna happen, I did predict the Blue's though so go me. Still it'll be a good game especially with the Hodge-trade storyline.

One of the first friends I made when I moved here was from Vancouver, we were at one of 2 bars in town that plays hockey, and he had a Linden jersey on. Still fast friends, always great for an insightful discussion on hockey interlaced with a good amount of sarcasm. He's moved back to Vancouver, but will always be a guy whose opinions I'll seek out for whatever monumental thing is going down in the league at the time.
I know how it is to pick up all of a sudden a bunch of new fans that choose only to show up when times are easy - they tend to be pretty embarrassing. Clearly on the whole, a great group of folks up there and I wish you success.
Except for Meganuck, but that's understandable. |

Should be a good one, the Sedins need to step it up though. We need them scoring if we're gonna have a chance in the post season! Since the All-Star break they've put up minimal pts.
Don't follow Buffalo, so I'm not sure what style of play they prefer? If they play a trap game like St. Louis this could be another snoozer! |

We need the Sedins to become a point a game players ,same as our second line ,and our third and 4 th lines to become a .5 pt line per game.I have no problem with the boring tight checking style because that is what the NHL play in the playoffs. We may as well get use to it . |

I agree, the boring tight checking games will win you Cups but rarely entertain -- I prefer a Stanley CUP!!! |
