I can see why management of the Leafs don't like the Media as well. Most of all the print is negitive articles. Reporters before and after a game ask the stupidest questions that any fan listening basically already knows the answer too.

It's like the reporter asking a family who is standing outside their burning home "how do you feel right now" Same type of questions from a hockey reporter. " Well Ron your teams lost 10 games in row now, what do you have to do to turn things around" Wilson would love to say we obviously have to play better and score more goals then the other team, which any fan also knows, but the coaches,GM'S and players all give you that cliche type of answer which basically tells you nothing.

With all the leaf games on television we can see for ourselves how we played, whether great or not, we don't need reporters to tell us what we already know, or ask players a question that they rehersed answers too from media training they get from the team.

Too bad the reporters didn't ask the hard questions which is what the fan really wants to hear. "Dion what happened, it seemed the team just came out in the first period flat" Yes we showed alot of character by not quitting but we have to play better right from the opening bell, play a full 60 minutes" Reporter Dion you have said the same thing now for the last 6 games, talking about what your doing wrong is easy, if you know the problem of coming out flat why the hell do you continue that pattern" I wish I had a loonie for every time I have heard a leaf player, coach etc. say we showd alot of character tonight (we still lost) lol

Anyway my meda rant

Remember when Simmons wrote a few years ago about Sundin having the hip problem and he wouldn't be able to play hockey? What a joke that turned out to be. Do you ever see a reporter write an article saying sorry for being wrong from something they said earlier? Never, no accountability. Just another reason for a team hating the media.

I'll use you Berger as a media type that conflicts with the Leafs.

You are an annoying human being. You ask the most redundant of questions, often repeating what the journalist beside you just asked, but put your own berger flair on it. You try to lure management, either coach or GM, into situations that make them look bad, and you expect them to say how totally right you were all along.

I could go on, but anyone wo has seen you in action knows....

PS, treating the fans like idiots doesn't do much to get media types like yourself sympathy.

They've tried trading players and draft picks.

They've tried firing coaches and GM's.

Solution to the Leafs 45 years of pain:

Fire everyone in the Toronto Media!

I just ordered the book, so I skipped the quotes.Actually, recent events remind me of the Ballard years, never a dull moment

Do you have any idea how many tv media members are paid directly by the leafs?
Good Dawd man,at least some reporters aren't in the tank!
Sit back and let Paul Hendrick, Gregg Milne and Joe Bowen tell you all the wonderful things about our beloved Maple Leafs....all three are on the leaf payroll,it;s a f'n farce. The Leafs want to (own) control the messege, they get a very easy ride from the media

So it's a farce for MLG to pay an announcing and reporting crew? Who knew...jeeze every other team does but now it's the Leafs fault because they do something that isn't out of the ordinary at all.

The point is, these same reporters represent Sportsnet, for example. You can't expect objectivity when they also collect a check directly from MLSE.
