I felt I was in a time warp because overall a very boring game.
To me this is where you coach needs to be the best player on the ice. He needs to make adjustments to the team so they can succeed. Now, I don't know what is being said on the bench or between periods but it didn't show on the ice.
The Panthers play a boring game of clog hockey. In doing so the Flyers needed to keep it simple and crash the net. This did not occur. Too many times they tried the extra move and failed at it. To this I ask what type of adjustments are being made. There are plenty of video to see how each team plays so you need to mix it up.

has anyone else been kind of disappointing by Schenn? I mean this kid is a rookie but hes not lighting up the lamp or even creating plays like other top rookies in the league.....not to mention he is older and has more experience then them.... |

I thought they responded well to Lavis timeout. Effort was there towards the end, they just couldn't score and then they started forcing passes and trying to get too fancy in the neutral zone. Oh well, can't win them all. Florida is playing for a division lead and playoff spot, so the Flyers should have been ready, but it is what it is. |

He's like 20? Not that old. Wasn't exactly a dream season for him with all his injuries, which haven't helped him. |

Not too concerned with the offensive numbers. Only concerned with the GA for the team. With the style their playing, offensive numbers will drop. This is the way they must play in order to have success in the playoffs. The PP looked bad which was the Only thing concerning here IMO. Power play clicks and this is an easy win |

You guys generated a ton of shots. Nothing to be concerned about, IMO. Just was one of those nights where you didn't get the bounces, it happens. |

i think some one should mention that the flyers missed alot of shots last night that they put wide of the net or over it. i understand that stuff like that happens but is it just me or did they not miss the net alot last night. it seemed that great scoring chances were shot wide or high or just plain missed. it also seems to me that at times they are trying to be to fancy with the puck...just shoot the freakin thing to many dippsy doodles and moves instead of just firing. nothing bad can happen when you shoot the puck the goal last night that the flyers got proved that always a chance for a rebound or deflection off the skate |

Months ago I stated this team lacked a true goal scoring sniper and I was told 48 filled that roll. Danny looks lost without Ville. This team has no one that is a scoring threat every time they hit the ice. Anxious to see how this is addressed during the off season. #61 would sure look good in the O&B especially after a game like last night. Homer addressed the size of the wings now we need someone to put the puck in the net on a consistent basis. |

the team came out strong effort-wise, but they played stupid and w/o purpose. too often they tried to make the fancy play and that's not going to work against teams that are on top of their defensive game. in these situations, they need to simplify their game and simply get pucks to the net...esp on the PP. |

I'd prefer to watch our young players grow and develop into scorers, rather than giving up assets for a guy who makes almost $8 million/year.
Confident that Homer doesn't overreact to the misconception that this team can't score. |

There were a lot of missed shots last night. Rinaldo missed a half a net to shoot at, should of been tied had he hit the net.... Like everyone else said, it was just one of those nights. |

Players not executing offensively isn't something a Coach can make adjustments on. As Bill said, passes in skates, passes when they should be shooting, crashing the net. All offensive basics. All a Coach can do during the game is make them aware of it, or limit icetime to those who are playing the right way. Those adjustments on ice need to be made by the players. |

Last time I looked, Hartnell was 3rd in the NHL in goals. And the Flyers are still one of the top offensive teams in the entire League. So obviously there are some scoring threats on the ice. |

The game was won for the Panthers with their penalty kill and lost for the Flyers because of their power play.
Tough to lose to a team that you are better than but it happens, especially when you play 2 games like they did over the weekend. Now the key will be to stop it before it becomes 2 games. Win against the Caps and keep this thing moving.

Raise your hand if you thought before the season that the goaltending tandem of Scott Clemmenson and Jose Theodore would be good enough to get a team into the playoffs?
Yeah that's what I thought. Throw this loss aside, you guys are going to be fine, IMO you're the only team that poses a legit threat to the Pens. |

I think their GM has done a heck of a job putting their team together. Even at the beginning of the season I thought they could be a team that could sneak in. I hope they win their division and I hope you guys knock the Caps out of the 8th spot. |

I'll tell ya, if the Sabres don't make the playoffs they have nobody to blame but themselves, injuries aside they shouldn't have had the poor start they did.
BUT..if they sneak in at 8th and the Rags hang on to the top spot I don't see any reason the Sabres couldn't give the Rangers a series, maybe even upset them. I don't give us much of a shot against Pittsburgh though.
Yeah Florida did a heck of a job this offseason, if Markstrom and Huberdeau turn out to be the studs they believe they can be, and Gudbrandson continues to develop, they are going to own that division for a while. |

Tallon had to acquire a lot of high cap hit guys to reach the cap floor over the summer, and he did a fine job.

It may be time to consider moving Briere to wing. He is barely doing anything at center... I think he just needs to focus on getting into scoring position, let someone else worry about centering the line.
Our Defense REALLY needs to start hitting the net from point shots. There is no need to try and hit a corner. Shoot dead center, hope for a deflection or a rebound, or misplay by the goalie... You dont have to try and snipe a corner. |

Seriously. Is there a more overrated player in the league than Rick Nash? Don't understand how that happens to a 30-goal scorer on a bad team. |

They haven't exactly given him a great supporting cast since he has been there.
