The comebacks can be fun and exhilarating. But they can't get behind tonight. Need a really strong effort. They should still be trying for home ice and to continue a good momentum run leading up to the playoffs.
All the BS from the weekend, that poop is over. Got two games against a locked in playoff team and one that is doggedly fighting to make it in before the Pens again. Those two games are important, too. |

This late season version of the the Flyers looks very tough. Injuries are mounting but the remaining players have stepped up.
I expect a very tough game for NY tonight. |

A win would be great, I just really want the good play to continue.
But they don't seem to show up until the scoreboard is heavy on the other side. Can't do that against Hank and the Rangers. |

It's unreal how good the Rangers are at closing out when leading after two periods.
Great work again, Bill. |

Nice job Bill
I'm going to the game tonight, which I'm stoked about. I'm hoping the flyers can draw from the positives (resiliency, passion, workman like attitude) from the weekend and forget the negatives (going down early, letting up multiple unanswered goals).
Let's really get this freight train rolling. Should be a tough week with the Rags tonight, playoff hungry buffalo on thursday, and then a playoff primer with the Pens Saturday. Should be a great final week to the season |

Would you rather the Rangers play Buffalo or Washington?

Miller has turned his game around.
The Caps need a heart. Maybe they should visit the Wizard in Oz...

Enjoy the game, just stay away from hammarby and his bad juju.

Not scared of either but Buffalo matches up well against the Rangers.
A top seed is crucial because I wasn't looking forward to a Flyers first round series. The way your favorite club is playing lately, that would have been a tough one.
So, to answer your question, would rather draw Washington.
The Pens don't want a Flyers first round series. It seems the Flyers have their number and Fleury looks sieve-like lately. |

For all intents and purposes, the Flyers and Penguins are in the same situation right now heading into these final three games.
Philly needs to be up two points on the Pens after the Buffalo game to render next Saturday's outcome in Pittsburgh meaningless. Due to the tiebreaker, which the Flyers have already clinched, the Penguins need to be up three points on Philly to do the same prior to the final game, but already have one extra point from shootouts in their favor.
If the Flyers beat both the Rangers and Sabres -- by any means necessary -- and the Pens no better than 1-1-0 or 0-1-1 this week, it won't matter what happens in the final game in Pittsburgh. If the Flyers win both games and the Penguins go at least 1-0-1, it comes down to the final game.
If the Flyers lose either to the Rangers or Sabres in regulation, they've still got a shot in the final game so long as Pittsburgh doesn't go at least 1-0-1 to take a three-point lead.
If Philly loses in OT/SO in one game and wins the other, they will still have a shot in the final game regardless of what the Pens do this week because Philly would enter the final game two points out.

Toss the previous five contests out of the window, this is a different Flyers team since March.
The youngsters are really coming to the fore and their team defense has improved.
I expect an intense and hard hitting affair tonight. |

Not to look ahead, but I cant help it... Should the flyers dress the goon squad on Saturday, or just blast the pens on the score sheet? I honestly want to dress the goon squad and get some pay back (I dont want anyone to get hurt on the pens, I just want to make them very very very sore). As much as I want that I think blasting them on the score sheet will do more damage then if the game just becomes a big brawl |

Thursdays game is the very definition of let down game, we need to win tonight to prove we can take on the rangers in the playoffs.

I think a lot depends on this week before moving on to that.
If that Saturday game is rendered "useless" than Crosby, Malkin, Letang, and co will likely sit out.. |

See above. If the Flyers go 2-0-0 in the next two games and the Pens go no better than either 1-1-0 or 0-1-1, the outcome on Saturday in Pittsburgh becomes meaningless in terms of its bearing on home ice in the playoff matchup.
Likewise, the Penguins also have a chance of wrapping up home ice prior to Saturday if they win both their games this week and the Flyers go no better than 1-1-0. |

Not to change the subject (and this is just all my opinion) but I find the back contusion thing a little hard to believe with regard to Briere.
That hit looked more like a whiplash thing to me and this out indefinately sounds more like a concussion problem with a back contusion being the secondary but the only injury being revealed to the public.
Watching the replays Briere actually left the ice while all the scrums where happening. |
