The sad thing is we can not expect that leafs to lose when we need them to. They win when they should lose, and they lose when they should have won. Kinda reminds me of a Sinfield episode for some reason. |

Fans in Montreal will likely give them a standing ovation too.

This just depressingly reminds me of the 6-5 thriller where we knocked the habs out of the playoffs and had a chance of making it if the Devils weren't dip poops and played Clemmonson. |

What a moment that was... nothing like getting a huge "JOB WELL DONE" signal by the fans to end the year.

1 Columbus Blue Jackets (48.2%)
2 Edmonton Oilers (18.8%)
3 Montreal Canadiens (14.2%)
4 New York Islanders (10.7%)
5 Toronto Maple Leafs (8.1%)
TSN has Columbus at a 48.2% chance of retaining the first pick, or did I read your blog wrong? |

That was pretty funny. Phaneuf's celebration was priceless, I can't even imagine what he would do if he scored a meaningful goal, maybe pull a flamethrower out of his butt and slide down the ice torching the glass. |

So by the looks of the standing going into tonight, the Leafs can either solidify their lotto pick and end up with the 4th/5th pick... or totally screw it up.
which will happen? - robin_steele264
if the leafs win tonight were taking your pick for schenn |

I don't see the Oilers losing to the 'Nucks as the 'Nucks are fighting for the Presidents trophy. If that's the case, Habs can't improve on draft position so they may as well beat the Leafs...except...I don't want the Leafs with a top 5 pick, so I hope the Habs tie it late but the Leafs win in OT/SO. I also think one of Carolina, Minnesota or Anaheim will win the lottery and jump 4 places, with Columbus still getting the overall pick. |

i don't buy the whole playing for job at the end of the season. Burke doesn't give a crap what you do tonight, you had 81 games to show what you can do. Hell, Devereaux scored a bloody hat-trick the last game of the season, killed our draft, and was flipping pancakes at Golden Griddle the next week. never played in the NHL again.....thanks for the good times Boyd |
