For the question of should there be more tweaks or a major overhaul. I think its time for some Major overhauls while there is still some value in those we could try to trade off. We mortgaged the future for the here and now over the past 4-5 seasons. The team is not bad by any means but I think the core needs to be changed and it could possibly be time for a new GM to pick the direction we go.

We usually only get posts after a game, so being creatures of habbit most of us are probablly not looking for a pre game post.

no pick? it'll be interesting to see how the blues handle the pressure of being a favourite now. their hard checking might give the sharks some problems, but we'll see. i'm thinking the sharks can pull this one out if they keep playing like they did down the stretch. anyone can win...

i still don't know who will win, but it's going 7.

Jaro carried us to the ECF and I'd say the Blues are a better team than we were, he has been inconsistant but, Good Luck with this

I'm happy to see that you guys made the playoffs, and I'm happy that we don't have to play you in the first round. I think the Sharks will upset the Blues in 7 games. I know the Sharks were 0-4 against the Blues in the regular season but that doesn't matter anymore.

I'm happy to see that you guys made the playoffs, and I'm happy that we don't have to play you in the first round. I think the Sharks will upset the Blues in 7 games. I know the Sharks were 0-4 against the Blues in the regular season but that doesn't matter anymore.

Gore doesnt say anything controversial, stir up coversation, or ask questions. Not much to discuss.

When we make the playoffs 14/15 years (close, but made up stat) I guess the first round doesnt excite us.

If there were discussion let me break down what would be said:

Most sharks fans think we will win the series, most blues fans think they will win the series, most analysts think the blues will win the series. We are are not the favorites or labeled as a serious contenders for the first time in a while, and most sharks fans like it that way.

I really think this is a hard series to predict, as Gore mentioned the Blues have come back down to earth and variance is starting to play a factor. While the Sharks have found some consistency they were looking much better towards the end of the season.

This season, I have come to dislike the Kings enough that I am rooting for the Canucks (although they are a close second in terms of teams I can't stand).

As for Sharks in 4....very improbable, but hell yeah, let's do it!!!

I haven't really heard this said by anyone else, but I think one of the biggest keys for the Sharks will be crisp passes. Watching their games against the Blues, their passes weren't connecting, which really slowed the Sharks down and made them chase/grind, which played to the Blues' advantage. the Sharks play a puck possession style and (at the risk of sounding too obvious) need to stick to their style and possess the puck. The Sharks aren't the speediest team, and while St. Louis isn't either, the Blues seem to win the races to loose pucks vs the Sharks.

Also, for the love of Stanley, the Sharks need to hit some people! They make it way too easy for their opponent by letting them skate out of the corners unscathed. The Blues will make you pay with a hit every time, and if the Sharks don't return the favor the Blues could skate circles around the Sharks in the later games of this series.

And, of course, the Sharks need to be interested in every shift of every game. If they "fall asleep" against the Blues, even for one shift, they'll pay for it more times than not.

Anyways, that's my analysis. And with that said, my prediction is Sharks in 7.

My brain tells me Blues in 6 games.

My heart tells me Sharks in 6 games.

It's going to be a fun series, and I'm just glad the Sharks are playing this post season!

Well, my brain and heart concur: Sharks in... don't know how many but it's not the point. I think if we play hard for every minute of every game and Niemi plays well I expect the Sharks to win the series.
