Lately the Devils have been playing a fun game/drill after the formal part of practice or a morning skate is over.

They assemble in two lines on either side of the slot leading away from the net. The right-hand shots are on the left side and the left-hand shots are on the right side. Assistant coach Adam Oates stands at the top of the zone and passes to a player on one side. That player then passes across to a player on the other side for a one-timer. If the shooting player’s shot doesn’t go in the empty net, he is eliminated. If Oates judges that the passing player makes a poor pass, he is eliminated.

The game goes on until all the players on one side are eliminated.

Today’s game was especially entertaining as right wing Cam Janssen was the last right-hand shot standing and there were still nine lefties left.

Janssen kept making his shots while, one by one, the lefties were eliminated until it was just Anton Volchenkov remaining.

The final showdown between Volchenkov and Janssen went on a few more rounds before Volchenkov missed his shot and everyone that stayed on the ice to watch the end – lefties and righties – mobbed Janssen to congratulate him.

“He won. That’s good,” Kovalchuk said. “He has his one-timer ready.”

funny stuff....as for the game today, can't let up, must keep home-ice and keep the pressure on Philly. They are NOT Florida (and Florida is very good), if we let up they will smack us around. Must play all-out every shift to beat this team. No let downs!!!

Martin Brodeur - He has by no means been bad in this series, but there is room for improvement.

Understatement, I know bashing Marty can lead to a witch-hunt, but all 3 goals in game 3 were an absolute joke.

I know today's his birthday and all, but he needs to be in top form.

Devils have a combined 79 years of experience in net.

I would put Harrold in on the fourth line. brings more experience, speed and plays more of a defenseive role on forward. not liking the Sestito move

Sestito is a lefty, they like their lefties on the left side, righties on the right side for some reason pertaining to the system. I think it's to get out of the zone quicker but I don't really know.

But Sestito is rested, so he should be flying out there tonight.

This is going to be a rough game. Bryz and giroux should be unstoppable to tonight.

Hopefully Rinaldo is a douche and takes some penalties.

Don't worry about tonight, I'm wearing the lucky jersey, shorts, and shoes that are 3-0 at home games this post-season (4-0 including Game 7 of the Florida game). So it's all good.
