Saying Richards and Carter will "rub it into the wounds of Flyers fans by making the finals" is a bit dramatic.

I wish them both the best of luck

It would kill me as a Flyer fan to see Carter and Richards win a Cup a year after getting traded. Don't get me wrong the Flyers made two really good trades by dealing those two and they are in a perfect spot no real pressure to score or play well every game as Quick, Doughty, Kopitar and Brown do all the heavy lifting. But I am getting sick of seeing guys leave here like Justin Williams, Rod Brind'Amour, Mark Recchi, win Cups. It's about time the Flyers win a championship.

What are these "wounds" that salt will be rubbed into? I don't get it.

As do I. I like it when guys leave and succeed elsewhere. But the comments on the chat rooms and on twitter since the end of the season suggest a number of Flyer fans are angry as hell that Carter and Richards could be going to the Final and seem to forget that Schenn, Simmonds, Voracek and Couturier are going to bring very strong long range benefits to the Flyers.

So you're saying Tim, you would trade cooter and schenn for Carter and Richards? Aren't you?!?!?

in theory it would be Richards rubbing salt in the wound...the Flyers traded Carter to the Jackets, not the Kings...so Carter would be rubbing salt in the Jackets wound not ours.....

The only salt in the wound would be a Rangers' Cup. I'm hoping that Richards and Carter help stop the Rags if it gets to that point.

It's incorrect to say that Richards and Carter are under no real pressure to play well or score. LA gave up good assets to get both. And they were brought in to put the Kings up on a Cup level. And you can also see by how they're used and their icetime, that they are indeed also having their share of heavy lifting. It wouldn't kill me to see them win it all. I would love it. Although I do agree it's about time the Flyers win it. I think that's coming.

Quick has been fantastic but don't under estimate how well the team is playing. They are dominating the Coyotes.

Richards and Carter have less pressure in LA than they did here, no question about it. I also want to believe that winning a championship is coming but seeing players win somewhere else after failing here isn't something I would love to see.

The pressure is the same. Both players are signed to long term 11 and 12 year deals that is a risk for LA to take on. They are players that were signed to put the Kings over the top.

I would love to see the Kings win it all. Poetic justice.

Just another verse in Philadelphia sports. Once you leave philly as a player your chances to win a championship increase dramatically.

Jeff Carter and Mike Richards are 2 really good players but they're on the second line. They are the secondary scoring. With this said, even if they weren't traded from the Flyers, they would probably be the secondary scoring here as well behind Giroux and Briere in the playoffs. In my mind the trading of Richards and Carter were solid moves for more then what we got in return. Players like Giroux and Hartnell were allowed to break through. Much younger players were able to show they deserve to play at this level. At the same time we finally got a true number one goalie in this league. As it stands I'm cheering for Richards, Carter and the LA Kings to Win the Cup because their franchise is long over due but I'm not sorry to have seen Richards and Carter go. I'm sorry but where there is smoke, there is fire. Many believe they weren't taking Hockey serious enough and could be more then what they've shown. They can do a half asked job somewhere else because they'll never be what Giroux has already proven he is. A balls out top player in the entire league.

I don't exactly understand why Richards and Carter winning the Cup would be Poetic Justice. If Jeff Carter and Mike Richards were leading the LA Kings and putting everything on the line, yes I would agree with you. If they were singled out as the LA Kings' best players right now, again I would agree but I don't agree.

What if Mike Richards and Jeff Carter actually were showing up to morning skates hung over from the night before more often the not? What if Jeff Carter did sleep with one of his teammates wives? What if there was a serious rift between veteran teammates and the Coaching Staff against Jeff Carter and Mike Richards?

These are issues that have to be addressed if young athletes are putting themselves before the team. The outcome of course would be a great by Flyers management but it is what it is now. Not one of them went, they both went. So now it's poetic justice because they were either not allowed to run wild or they were two innocent players being accused of what all young athlete's do...but of course not them...

When this news is league wide, it doesn't matter to me where they win or lose at...but not here...

It will kill me if they get the cup before the Flyers. I still like the trades, but I really don't want to see they holding the cup.
