Local media in LA has been pretty dismal also. One channel using the Sac Kings logo, another sports chick calling Drew Doughty "Brad Dooty". Now you know why the Kings had to hire their own guy to write the news (Rich Hammond).

Yeah, LA media is bad. Tthey could care less about hockey. Let's be honest, most major cities throw hockey even under golf.

Rich Hammond. I don't know what to say about the guy. He's employed by the Kings so he never really has taken the GM, coach, or players to task. Plus, his website sucks. Say something wrong once, you are moderated forever. What's the point of commenting when it appears 20 minutes later and the convo has already passed you by? But he does provide a lot of valuable info you wouldn't get elsewhere. I also like The Mayor, gives a lot of great interviews with the players, and I like Surly and Scribe because you can say whatever you want there.

His point should have been that ALL print media is taking a hit financially and yes, therefore coverage has been reduced to almost invisible.

But to call Stan "the Maven" Fischler, that guy Stan was just inexcuseable.

He didn't do his homework and I'm sorry but Art Staple who covers the Islanders for Newsday (part of the Evil Dolan Empire) is not a college kid and not someone without journalism experience. Neither is Mark herrmann.

He was off the mark. Which makes his coverage less than experienced.
