Probably a decent pickup with Morrow just ahead of him. |

The LAST thing the Pens need to draft in the first round is ANOTHER puck moving blueliner. We need wingers. |

Have to agree with this. I'll be shocked if they don't grab a winger with their first this year. |

Gotta take best available in round 1 IMO. If we need a winger, Shero has the knack for trading young defenseman for them. |

This. It's Shero's MO.
Especially when you look at the wingers available in this area and you start to go "good third liner?"
I like the kids in this range-- the Hertl's, Kosmachuks, etc. but again.. it becomes a question of them being more of a bottom sixer than top sixer.
Grabbing a potential Top 4 Dman seems like the best idea. |

Pass ... just utterly ridiculous idea.
Then can we ship you Bennett for Eberle? |

I understand this and it is logical. I am less sure of the reality. It is hard to say who is left at 22nd. I trust your judgement mostly because you are more knowledgeable. For sake of arguement, which wingers might not go as high due to risk. You know, injuries, Russian and the like. |

Well you have a bunch of wingers/C's/D at the top, then a slew of Dmen through the mid section with a couple centers thrown in (Gaunce, Girgensons)... and then into the 20-30 range it's some more Dmen with the likes of Matteau/Samuelsson/Aberg/Hertl/Kosmachuk/Sissons/etc.
It's just not a very deep draft this year, like last year was. |

I wouldn't mind Girgensons slipping down to Pittsburgh ... I could see Matteau as the pick for some odd reason.

Would really like to see the Pens snag Samuelsson. What is your projection on him? Think the Pens would be a team willing to move down, with him as a target? |

I have Samuelsson going higher than Pens in my mock, and could likely go higher in real life as well after his Mem Cup.

Forsberg translates better. I'm not a huge fan, and you know that, but I wouldn't touch Slepy with a ten foot pole if you paid me.
EDIT: Wait, I just confused him with someone else.
Slepy's okay. Not a huge fan, he's raw. But good package of abilities. |

If he was Robert Smith he'd be around 15th, hopefully some daring team will grab him at around 30. Guy is a good kid, hard working, has size, snipes like a beast and always covers his own zone. |

OK, I checked him out on Yu Tube for what that can tell. He does keep his head up and has pretty sweet hands. And in typical live and love to score fashion, celebrates like a looney when he scores. I like what I see. A bit small but talented LW. |
