Flyers should grab luongo , imagine a bryz/luongo tandem ? Guaranteed cup. They could split playing time evenly and even change on the fly

Wilson was an animal. He had the talent to be a Scott Stevens type guy, but was way too inconsistent and injury prone to have that kind of career. He had some epic fights, tough as nails.

As far as Bryzgalov goes, it's been talked to death. He needs to be better, and the team in front of him needs to improve in it's own end. Hopefully, the adjustment period is over and Bryzgalov can focus on stopping the puck and not worrying about the distractions he faced in his first season as a Flyer.

I hope today we can talk about something other than Ritchie and Cartsy's drug problem...

Looking at the UFA list, it's slim pickings to say the least, any significant acquisition will most likely come via the trade route.

A name I haven't seen mentioned is Filip Kuba. He's 35, but he's been pretty productive, and is durable. I wonder if the Flyers would have some interest there.

I'd rather avoid over 35 deals if at all possible. Kuba, at the right price wouldn't be a bad addition, though.

Yeah, I hear you. It's becoming a young man's league. Flyers have plenty of experience on the blueline, youth isn't an issue in that area.

Great to see them win a cup.

Don't understand why people keep posting pictures. The vast majority of Flyers fans aren't bothered that Carter and Richards won a Cup. Nor should they. Doesn't change the fact the Flyers made two very good hockey trades.

Don't know why but I like the Flyers to try and land this Shultz kid.

Yeah. depending on price I agree. Pierre said he's can't miss. Not that Pierre's word is law, but he's a pretty informed guy like him or not.

Im very happy for all of the ex Flyers who won the cup this year. I was rooting for the Kings hard after the Flyers were eliminated.

The alternative of rooting for the Devils was something I didn't comprehend. Why would any Flyers fan want to see the Devils win another Cup? I don't get it. But to each their own.

Pierre expected him to land with the Rangers. Just what they need another young stud d-man.

It's because all fans of all teams, other than the Flyers, are stoopid. Well, that's not true, of course, but that's how I like to view the world. The fact is, other than Kings fans, I think Flyer fans enjoyed the Kings winning the cup more than anyone. Gagne almost dropping and then skating and kissing the cup induced some serious celebrating from me and even a tear or two. I loved those guys when they were here and I still like them and I'm very, very happy for them.

Yeah, there was no way I was rooting for the Devils no matter who they played. But I have always been a "second team in a different conference/league" kind of guy and that has been the Kings since the Gretzky days.

I was happy for all of them, Carter a little less so because of the way he acted when he was traded, as well as basically quitting on the Columbus team. It really is unbelievable to me that guys who make millions of dollars playing a sport (yes I know they achieved this through hard work) think it's their birth right to play for a contending team. Guess what, it's not. I can't stand when players instead of trying to be part of a solution are part of the problem.

I have always liked the Kings franchise from back in the days of the purple and gold uniforms. They deserved to win, they were by far the best team in the playoffs.

Nice job, Bill. Looking forward to the IB blog next week. The stats you present (wow!) clearly lend some credence to the "as the team defense goes, so goes the goalie." (I wonder how long it will take before someone fires up the "but you need your goalie to steal some games and Bryz can't do that" cries. )

I believe that Bryz is a top-shelf goalie who thrives on a heavier work load. I also think he's the type of goalie that has to work through the rough patches all players go through on the ice, not on the bench. Were I running the show next season I'd give him more games, not give up on him too quickly, and let him shine.

Wasn't ever a big fan of Behn Wilson. Sure, he kicked serious butt in fights but his overall game was frustrating for reasons you mentioned.
