I thought Prague was in the Czech Republic, which was formerly known as Czechoslovakia
Joking aside, great post. Fearthefin predicted the Sharks would pick Hertl in the days leading up to the draft, which caught me offguard a bit as I had not heard of the kid before. I read up on him a bit as a result of that article and was pleasantly surprised to hear the Sharks draft him. Hertl is decent size and has been playing against men in their 20's and 30's in his former league, so the size of his competition may not be as big of a jump as compared to making the transition from the CHL. That being said, the difference in rink size between international and north american rinks will be a transition, in addition to the speed the game is played here in the US and Canada. Looking forward to seeing him develop over the next few years and the upcoming season. Especially looking forward to the frenzy that is free agency and interested in seeing what our Sharks can do to lock down the bottom six. |

If Hertl is good enough to play at the NHL level, I see no reason why we should hold him back from playing. All of DW's other experiments on the 3rd and 4th line (Manny Malhotra set aside) have been epic failures. |

Hey guys. I haven't been on hockeybuzz in awhile...what's new and how is everyone doing? I've been busy as hell, but also working hard on some Sharks blogs. I would really appreciate if you would give my latest blog a look, called "My Five Moves To Fix The Sharks". I'd love any feedback you have on it! Thanks

PS: I'm also interested in what's been happening on hockeybuzz if anyone wants to update me...haha how obnoxious have the Kings fans been since their team won? |

Hertl will be ok, but I still wish we had gone for the home run pick in Teravainen |

Malhotra was trash in the post season. I'd much rather have Zus for the same money. |

I like your "defensive minded" trades. With your projections we would have...
Yandle Orpik
Burns Vlasic
Stuart Murray
Demers Braun
Beastly on the back end which I love, but we would need more than Kunitz to replace Patty's goal scoring. Maybe try and find a way to get the wizard out of the desert along with Yandle in that Marleau trade? |

Moves 1 and 3 will never ever happen simply because they don't make sense for the Penguins and Blackhawks. Dan Boyle for Kunitz AND Orpik? Really? I would do this if I am DW but it's a horrible trade for Pittsburgh, IMO, and they would never do this, not now that Boyle definitely lost a step and not getting any younger. |

Nice read on your blog, if only we could have someone like you write this column instead of Mr. Boring. But for the trades I agree the Boyle trade will never happen. I love the Marleau trade and I think it would be perfect. Doubtful Chicago would want Niemi back, but we could only hope. I like the players you want though doubtful that Doug Wilson does anything that makes sense. Watch he will trade the farm to get Rick Nash. |

Your kidding right? Zues over Malhotra? LOL! Sorry but Handzus makes Taco Torrey Mitchell look like a hall of fame player. |

Malhotra was a JOKE. Skate around super fast and never do anything, at least Zus skates around slow lol, but is in good position most of the time.
How could you compare a past Selke nominee with a career 3rd/4th liner in Malhotra? Manny is a one-eyed joke. |

Yep. Unfortunately DW will make some retarded trade to get Nash, instead of adressing what the team really needs. Getting Stewie back was a nice piece, but is he really done shoring up the back end? I sure hope not. |

Why Clowe? Am I the only one who likes Clowe on here?
Also (frank) Nash, Voracek I'd like though. We need to get faster. Someone find me a list of UFAs so I can pick out the ones I'd like, I'm too lazy |

It does not matter who you like as a Free Agent, because DW won't sign anyone worth crap anyway. Expect someone like Jamie Langenruner, or Mike Knuble. Someone old, and someone he can give a NTC too.

His job should be on the line this year, he better do something worthwhile. I like the Stuart signing, but he had nothing to do with it really, so I can't even give him credit for it.
We really need to move Marleau and/or Havlat and get some depth or it's another first round exit |

If we signed Hedberg and brought up Stalock, what would happen to Greiss? I'd rather have Greiss be our #1 over Hedberg or Stalock |

If we lose Clowe or Murray we instantly become the softest team in the league |

Yea, a PAST Selke nominee. Handzus was crap for us this year. Not sure what Sharks team you were watching.
Malhotra was the best faceoff man in the league when he was on our team, a part of the 1st team PK (which wasn't 2nd to last in the league like this year's version), and on the 2nd PP unit.
He was a far more valuable asset than Handzus. |
