WHAT!?! A Blackhawks fan doesn't like a Blues player? Say it ain't so!

(Bortuzzo is a physical player. The stuff you dislike about him, you'd love if he was playing for you. He's an average #6 defensemen skill wise.)

Refs were horrible again tonight. Missed a lot both ways, but they made a couple calls against San Jose they weren't making the rest of the time. I get the feeling the Blues sent in a long tape of stuff from game 1 they'd like the officials to pay attention to, and it turned officiating from slanted massively towards San Jose to slanted slightly in Blues favor.

Great the Blues won, but they really need to be better than they were tonight to win the series. San Jose didn't manage to make them pay for some of their turnovers, and they will most nights. I think Blues at their best are the better team. Hope they manage to start playing their best.

I mean, whether officials were slanted because of it or not, it's 100% that teams send in video of what they feel like is getting missed. It's why each series has a single supervisor who doesn't rotate like the refs do. Blues have had Kay Whitmore all 3 rounds so far. Teams will send in tape, for instance of how Seguin & Benn were cheating on the faceoffs, to the series supervisor, who goes over concerns with the individual officials before the game. Kerry Fraser had an article about it a few years back, it's a whole thing were both teams have to be present and get to hear what the other is pointing out.

Exactly. The team's discuss things with the officiating supervisor. Last series was Kay Whitmore I believe. They aren't speaking with the actual referees. Guys and gals like Whitmore get to filter and determine what they are going to share with the crews.
