Carol Schram: Quinn Hughes & Tyler Myers missing from practice; Canucks make recalls on D
With Quinn Hughes and Tyler Myers both missing from practice on Tuesday, the Vancouver Canucks have made emergency recalls of defensemen Guillaume Brisebois and Jalen Chatfield from their farm team in Utica as the team prepares to host the Arizona Coyotes to open a four-game homestand on Wednesday.
We will go as far as Demko takes us. If he can keep us under 3 goals a game for most of our games we should be winning the majority of our games. .666 winning percentage should equal the playoffs.
Even if the schedule seems favourable, I thought we would take 3 of 4 on the road this time.....loses to Ottawa, Montreal, and Columbus are nerve rattling for sure.....
Would be nice to see Petey step up with some JTM-like effort and will the team to some victories. He needs to have another gear to give this time of year, as most of the boys should.
Thanks so much Carol we are so fortunate to have you here!
As predicted Nucks will just miss finishing around 92 points.
The season is a win though IMO.
All the right improvements were made in most the right areas.
Injuries have killed us in the past just a little later this season.

If we don't make the playoffs I see it as an epic meltdown and subsequent failure. I don't care if we get booted in the first round - we just have to make it!
(I guess if we lose 4 straight in the playoffs I'll lose my mind also).
People always ask if it is tough to be a Canucks fan. Fact is it isn't - so much drama....

The team hasn't played .500 hockey in a while...now injuries might be mounting. Gonna be tough. But I hope they make it. Experience is needed for this group.
I'm sure Aquafeenie is sh!tting himself right now with the teams 50th anniversary and all.

Canucks season has been defined by a series of good and bad runs:
9-3-2 start
7-12-2 swoon
14-3 run
4-7-2 slide
17 games left, they'll have to answer their recent losing stretch with one more good run to get into the playoffs
Reads like a young, inconsistent team. Need to get back on a heater now.
The Curse of Wayne Make #11 continues. FOR THE RECORD: I have been emailing the Canucks since the Gillis era to retire Maki's #11 to crush the ego curse of the Canuck decision makers yet they don't ever listen.
