Good to see another young player in the lineup tonight. Much more interesting games when watching young players vs vet pylons, much easier to tolerate mistakes.

Old School Torts scratches his captain, Courtier, as PHI hosts TOR. Philly goes up 3-zip and hang on to beat the Leafs 4-3. Guy has old school lizard senses that gets every ounce outa his squad. .

I'm in the camp that Reichel should have been left at RKF. Kid's brain is scrambled and the best way to deal with that is stick him in one place, one position, same mates at RKF and let the quick twitch athlete work it out. ........ But the enigma comes out flying, coming outa a couple wall scrums with the puck and his motor never stopped. Go figure. Which Lucas Rifle will we see tonight?

Biiiiig Kaiser fan, but like Riechel leave him down for the yr acknowledging he'd fit up in the Bigs. Keep feeding him prime minutes and let the heady kid absorb what being a pro is......... That said, tough draw vs the beastly Kings but very interested to see where his game is after most of the season at RKF.

Johnson up on L1 replacing Foligno makes that a really fast line. All 3 were flying last game and I think this is how KD wants to construct his roster, speed/skill.

It really is amazing how pretty much every rookie is showing much much more poise than back in Game 10. When this group makes the playoffs we will have followed them since they were in hockey diapers...... And yea man, much more fun to watch the kids than the vet placeholders.

Reichel looks way more like the guy we saw last season so far since his recall.

Really solid road period, didn't give up a shot for the first 11 minutes of the game and really limited the chances against. That's what we like to see.

Kurashev really dogging the puck and playing hard, you could see that top line really starting to dig in and put in the effort despite being at a size disadvantage.

Hawks looked like an NHL team in the 1st. Lotsa pace in the 1st, great game for the fan.

Vlasic is feeling it. Skating, jumpin in as the 4th forward, nicely taking a pass at pace and carry it while marked and gets the thing towards the net. ... Got caught up ice a couple shifts later though, but good to see that kind of mindset.

Slaggert keeps drawing penalties he'll be a fixture in the lineup. Nice read on that play, he attacked the Dman looking to draw a penalty and he did...... Better speed than I thought watching him at ND. Kid looks to play a fo5recheck, disrupter high motor, right side of the puck kinda role and he might have the speed to do it.

As good of forecheck as I can remember from this club...... Couple rough shifts for Kaiser. Hope it's just nerves but he didn't look nervous in Game 1.

Small speed guys ain't easy to line up if they're skating/zoomin/darting. Lotta speed on L1. Fun to watch..... Can't believe Bedard missed that 1/4 open net.

L2 with Reichel and AA show tons of speed. Guess we're getting good Riechal tonight. Moving his feet, puck hounding and zeroing his shifts the kid has a bunch of IQ.

Another skill young fast forward who has struggled and had less TOI is Holtz on New Jersey, He was I believe fourth overall. He was never sent down to AHL this season. Well Holtz has a goal in each or most of the past few Devils contests. Today Holtz scored assist to both Hughes brothers

Top young talent dept

We have Bedard and Korchinski
They have the Hughes brothers
We have Reichel and Devils have Holtz; both players striving to become top young players

You like the beast on skates Byfield; maybe we draft Lindstrom

Hawks playing a 2-1-2 forecheck, which is an aggressive system.

Hawks won 71% of the puck battles in the first,

Hawks just look so much more confident with Mrazek in the net.

Yes, I like listening to a professional broadcast.

Or should I say a broadcast that teaches/tells me something I don’t know.

Makes you realize just how bad the CHI feed is... Hawks win 71% of puck battles in the 1st!!!!

So far, this is as good a game as I've seen from the squad. Whatever they do they're doing it fast. ..... They're bottling this vet club up.

Byfield vs Kaiser in front of the net is a big mismatch.

Kaiser is like a wrestler. When body to body the kid gets leverage on the opponent, gets into and under him getting position/leverage. But yea, tough go vs beasts.

Too bad Kings got those 2 bounces leading to goals cuz this is the fastest, taking away time and space, for the most part well positioned I've seen this club. ....I almost wanna say a switch has been flipped for the Hawks. ... Love the speed, disrupt, high tempo, do it fast, puck hound brand they're playing.

Kaiser with a much better period. Easy to see why the organIzation is high on him.
