Need to set the tone early, get a goal or two, and put the body on McDavid and Draisaitl and make their lives miserable. If the Oilers want to play the two of them for more than half the game, then so be it, that's going to wear them out and make them less effective like usual.

Ya I think it was MacIntyre that mused about that too. They’ve been playing close to 30 minutes the last two games, and they haven’t been as effective 5 on 5. The Canucks need to make their minutes tough, put them on the limp if they’re gonna play that much.

I have a feeling Kane is gonna take a run at Hughes really early. Hopefully the refs are aware of how charged this game is and call it accordingly from the start.

Watch out for the intent to injure.

Thanks nyn.

I’d be fine if the oilers came out aggressively and took a bunch of penalties. At least one of the Elias’ will score for the Canucks.

Curious who starts for Edm.

Edit. Sounds like capt Picard is starting.

Porn is for kids, but yes, I agree, too bad it wasn’t Cole. That fucker might as well slip on an Oilers jersey.

It most definitely is not!

Thanks NYN, not sure how much more of these 1 goal games I can take. Juulsen in for Soucy shouldn't have too much of an impact on the game, the guys just need to stay out of the box and they'll keep winning. Oilers can't seem to break through the D at 5v5 no matter what they do.

I was hoping DPetey would draw in just to confuse Kane. He’d probably think our forward went on the Nichushkin training regimen.
Edit: thanks Yorkie!

Did I hear that Cole's been playing his off-side (right), but with Soucy out, Cole moves to his natural left-side? CA did a decent article on it at beginning of season...

Soucy has been solid in my opinion, but maybe it's addition by subtraction if Cole feels more comfortable on the left-side. Hopefully that helps because Cole's been Oiler's most prolific clutch scorer.

That is correct. I think Cole could definitely benefit from moving to his strong side against a team as fast as Edmonton, but Juulsen is definitely a downgrade on Soucy.

Ty Yorkie

Our PP has been hot & cold & we’ll need it to be better. Our 5v5 play & structure has been good. All the pressure is on the Oil. Being a 1 trick pony hasn’t been good enough.

What are the D pairings?
Not sure you’d want to put juulsen with Cole, who’s been the weak link for sure.

Hughes-Hronek
Zadorov-Juulsen
Cole-Myers

I’m assuming something like that as well. Tough boy second pairing 👍

A big test ahead for Juul’s. He has had sort of a break out year but still a depth D. Keep it simple & keep them wide. No bad penalties obviously. How he faces PO pressure & break outs is the biggest challenge. We cannot as a team keep getting hemmed in our own end & waste energy defending. Idc about our shot totals since you don’t shoot from our own end of the ice.

Overall it’s team D & break outs that’ll have to be the recipe.

He definitely should, might as well give it to Peterson too

Hronek no points has also stood out. D has 22pts in 9 PO games.

Hughes is getting pumped while Hronek outlets to Hughes as his go to & not much else. He hasn’t added much else so far. He needs to up his game in a very tight series.

I wonder if Juulsen will just come out the gates trying to finish the job on Draisaitl's back

Kane will run Hughes head first into the boards knocking him out to a standing ovation.
