Not sure what to make of all the trouble getting McClellan. I understand part of it is a BlueJacket FO vs. Kings FO standoff. Then an issue with McClellan ?? McClellan wanted term because this roster (from his POV) is nowhere near competing for a playoff spot, an assessment I strongly agree with . If McLellan is doing this to preserve his reputation, I find it a bit pretentious on his part considering ;

-he only made the playoffs once in Edmonton with two of the greatest players in the nhl

-And he never came out of the first round with the Kings, on top of missing the post season twice, resulting in his firing given last season was a slow motion train wreck.

Good points ! I agree. He's a little pretentious. Borrowing an old sports adage - sometimes the best trade is the one not made. Just substitute "coach signing" for trade.
