Couple reasons. There may be rehab options that are still being explored or other health criteria that have to be met before the surgery.
The other very real possibility is the longer they wait, the longer it will be until the player is able to return. If that is the case that would have to be something the player also agrees to. |

You always find a spot on the roster for a healthy Kane. |

Literally every story about Kane says he is likely to go on LTIR to start the season.

I just read a story about Kane - it had nothing to do with him going on LTIR to start the season…so maybe not literally. |

A healthy Kane, sure. Whether or not we will ever see a truly healthy Kane again is another issue. Kane is 33 years old now and players who play that style of game don’t get better with age. |

As a Kings fan all I can add is that Arvidsson is pretty injury prone so there will be some cap relief when he gets hurt which is inevitable. He's a great player but Father Time catches all these guys |

Offer sheets mean nothing if the player doesn't accept. Why would Holloway give up opportunity to play with Leon and Connor and win a cup for a few hundred thousand in the next couple years. Broberg may go for it and then St Louis loses their 1st round pick. Oilerdrum you can be as much of a poophead as the Vancouver bunch. |

Hola Mrs McDavid
First who says Holloway plays with McDavid or Draisaitl? Players want stability and waiting for Stan to get his ducks in a row might not be what Dylan wants.
Second, Broberg compensation is a 2nd not a 1st,
Keep being you Mrs McDavid |
