I don’t think he’s retiring. It’s the half assed rebuild situation that probably has him considering where he wants to sign his next contract.

It's a strange retool for sure. They should start seeing some fruit in a year or two, maybe even the second half of this year.

But they're coming into this season looking pretty bleak. And these aging stars don't have the benefit of time.

Eh, guess they weren't going anywhere without some younger legs anyways. Just feels like too little too late

No idea why we wouldnt throw an offer for Nic Robertson unless Dubas knows and doesnt rate him. Seems to be as low of a risk/reward as you could want given the upside.

No, I know we don't have a second. Got three thirds though.

Puckpedia is a great resource...especially now with Capfriendly gone

Look towards the bottom of pic. Quite a few picks in coming years, no 2nd next draft.

That would be GREAT. But we'd have to trade Graves and Jarry for that to happen.

Nice. That's better than I thought. I was having cap friendly withdrawals lol. Thanks!

Might not want to offer sheet for a potent bust player?
Knows him already and isn't impressed?
Lack of roster space already?
Wants to keep the picks he clearly values?

Plenty of potential reasons. He could well just think he has his top LWs in McGroarty and Bunting. If I were Dubas I would consider a trade myself.

I dont think you even need to offer sheet him. Seems like him and Toronto are both heavily motivated to find a trade for him.

We could offer sheet him a lower cap hit this year with 0 picks going back. During the discussion promise that he would be a guaranteed a top roster spot/opportunity with the potential to cash in bigger next offseason.

Yawn. I’m ready to be pissed at Sullivan and how soft the team plays/just doesn’t care. This off season seems really long for some reason.

I see a lot of money that could be spent better unfortunately. It's definitely a strange roster.

Not sure why a player would do that. Players want guaranteed money.

I’m honestly excited to see how far Rempe was able to step up his game and fighting skills over the off season. Hopefully he’s able to keep pushing the rich college wussy kid out of the NHL.

I'm glad that with the Isles dismantling their identity line that you can still find a NY team to root for.
