Many missed defensive assignments and a general lack of toughness on defense as well. Not boxing out around the goalie either.

Dzone structure has been awful all season.

1LW was our biggest need all offseason but we signed 3/4 line tweeners and a bunch of #7 dmen.

When Dubas and Crosby talked this offseason, I bet a lot of the talk was centered around the next 2 years beyond this year. This year was always going to be a loss.

This team is just so amateur which is especially worrying considering the age and experience. We could have Igor in net and we'd still struggle. We leave guys in front of the net alone, we blow assignments and allow them to walk right in, etc. It's just embarrassing for it to happen to a team that is old enough to do better. If this was a team of young kids learning, we'd have a different attitude.

There's no point in getting upset about the results, this season is going to be bad. Hopefully it pays off with a good draft pick.

The head coach scratched a top 6 winger, or at least a Competent NHL player to dress an AHL player on the 4th line.

In the end, you can't make chicken salad out of chicken poop. This team has some big problems. Sully tried to be cute in changing the lines yesterday, and it didn't translate to a change on the ice. Its early but its an ugly product to watch.

It's sad but true. Then again Dubas didn't really want to much us a competitive team this offseason by the moves he made. He just wanted to make us younger and get draft picks.

Did we watch the same game?

Not that I dont agree with the team having problems haha, they certainly do and we all knew that headed into the season, but they played a great game yesterday. That was a great battle with the current best team in the league, a team that was only scored on 2 times in their first 4 games. I had no problem with watching the product yesterday at all. Now, the Rags and Canes games? They were hard to watch haha, no doubt.

I also left out 6 PIMs as well...should I have put them in because they're good?

-5 is horrible through 7 games, no doubt.

Apparently, Sid called out the team defense after the game last night. Maybe we'll see a little more effort from that facet of the game. Or we could always just continue to play pond hockey and hope that works.

Letang has always posted good numbers. But his decision making the last 3-4 years has been suspect at best.

Oh, I agree. Especially the past two'ish seasons since last stroke.

I also think Tanger was always a risk taker and has always been a bit prone to bad decisions. However, a in his prime Dumoulin helped cover it up a lot of seasons.

Anyone remember when the penguins are on the PK the last time you seen a player on the ice using there body to block a shot? God forbid you might get a boo boo.

He did specifically say himself in the quote. Maybe he should scream like a little baby at his teammates like Mcdavid.

The team with the highest blocks per game so far in this very, very early season are the Canadiens with 21.5 blocks per game. The Pens are at 14.0 per game. So, there's shots being blocked.
