#Isles GM Lou Lamoriello says they’ll know more about Anthony Duclair over next 24 hours.

Long term, not short term as of now.

Not a season-ending injury.

Someone will be recalled from Bridgeport.

Gauthier going on waivers had nothing to do with injury.

Well that doesn't sound like a particularly great prognosis

Not really loving that.

But I guess Roy doesn’t have many options.

Duclair has been so much more than I expected. Really (frank)ing stings losing him long term.

This is a tough one schwein. Islanders cannot have stability on that top line.

Yeah when the "good news" portion is just that he "won't be out for the season" you know it's probably going to be awhile

Defense should be better with Holmstrom. The offense takes a hit for sure.

Feels like there will probably be a revolving door of guys swapping in and out of that spot. Holmstrom does have a strong shot so hopefully he can get open and have Barzal find him, but we'll see if he can keep up with those two.

Curious who, if anyone, slides into the lineup. If Gauthier clears waivers Wahlstrom will draw back in but that still leaves a hole somewhere. Lou apparently already said Martin isn't going to be it, so that's good to hear.

Maybe Fasching take the 4RW and Wally takes Holmstroms spot?

Seems like the most probable move. They can't fit Engvall's cap hit so he's not an option.

Probably will be a revolving door chief.

Any word on Maggio or Dufour? This is where Bridge should be more of a help.

Don't think there's much to report there. Maggio has 3 assists through 5gp and Dufour has 1 goal. Bridgeport is 1-3-1, no surprise there

On the plus side, Alex Jeffries is leading the team with 3g-2a-5pts in 4gp

Maybe in a 1000 years, Bridge will be a help.

What if they put DuClair on LTIR?
From what I understand that would free up some cap money. So Engvail may be an option.

Edit: Not that it’s a very good one.

I doubt Holmstrom will be the solution on the first line...but I hope he kills it out there because I'm always hoping he'll take the next step in his development. For a young player, he has a good enough grasp of the game to play very responsibly, which makes him easy to root for. If he could just add something offensively...apart from when he's on the PK...he'd be a really nice player you could plug anywhere in the lineup.

He's still the youngest on the team, which is easy to forget since he's been around a while now, so, who knows...maybe he has more to give and maybe this opportunity unlocks it. I can see how his quiet style might help him sneak into goal-scoring areas while Barzal's flying around with his "look at me!" style and everyone's worried about the pass to Horvat.

4-8 weeks for a groin strain . I'm no doctor but that is what it looked like . Jefferies should get first shot.

Agree on both. No to Engvall. If I read right 3 guys will come up from BPT . 1 for Gauthier , 2 for Duclair.

They could, but they don't accrue cap space while someone is on LTIR. Which means they'd have less flexibility at the trade deadline if they were in a position to buy. And they'd have to be compliant again when Duclair came off.

#Isles Transaction: Julien Gauthier has been assigned to Bridgeport. Liam Foudy has been recalled from loan.

Foudy gets the call, not surprising. He had a good camp and has 4a through 5gp in Bridgeport. He's also more suited for a bottom six role than Jeffries would be. I'd rather Jeffries continue to get big minutes and develop anyway. He has all of 16 games of pro experience to date.

And while I'm basically just spamming the board by myself, I may as well drop this in here also:

#Isles prospect Cole Eiserman, who fell to No. 20 at 2024 #NHL Draft, has been named Hockey East Rookie Of the Week.

He's the first @TerrierHockey player since 2002-03 to score 4 goals in his first 3 collegiate games.

Leads all rookies in goals this season & BU is 3-0-0.

Strong start for Eiserman

That would be great, but they need to be careful with him. He figures to be a big part of the future and they need to develop him properly.

No question chief. I’ll be beyond shocked if he is ready. I’m hoping Islanders will have new scouts and development people before he is ready.
