I was at the game. Both teams played a good game.

FYI for all:
Wings are just 3 pts out of the last WC spot, which is Boston. They have a 4pt game with them on Saturday!!!!
The sh!t-show in the Atlantic is keeping everybody close. The Thanksgiving day standings will NOT hold up for the playoffs!
Wings are also only 4 pts outta 3rd in the Atlantic (TB)!
So I am sayin' that there is a chance despite their awful play, but 1 good game does NOT make a season.

I hate to be Debbie Downer, but if we're talking playoff probabilities after ~20 games, points out of a playoff spot matters a whole lot less than the number of teams in the hunt vs the number of spots available.

Any team can easily make up 3 points against any other single team. The question is, if there's only one spot available (hypothetically) and Boston, Buffalo, NYI, Columbus, Detroit, Philadelphia, and Ottawa are all basically tied in the standings and competing for it, how confident are we that Detroit is going to have the best record out of all those teams the rest of the way? Because that's what it's going to take. Even second-best isn't going to cut it, unless a team like WAS/TBL/FLA collapses out of the picture and creates a second opening.
