So sounds like the trade was Chytill, Lindgren, one ahl player and a 1st for Miller? Before it fell apart based on reports

Yup, this is from the Athletic column:
Rangers center Filip Chytil, defenseman Ryan Lindgren and some future-focused assets — the Rangers surprisingly scratched several Hartford Wolfpack players on Saturday, although it was unclear if it was trade-related — including a first-round pick could have been involved. One source briefed on the trade talks indicated that a disagreement on the protection structure of a first-round pick was a key hurdle.

Sounds like talk with Carolina is picking up steam to get Miller now

So Mika not involved, interesting.

Interesting to think what role Miller would have had in the lineup. Cuylle, Miller, Berard would be a hell of a line.

If that were actually the trade, Drury would yet again be a complete moron trading for 32 year old with the way this season has gone.

Without the 1st, I’d do it. I bet that is somehow the sticking point and NY backed out.

Lindgren I’d assume would be flipped for a 2nd round pick. The 1st is a joke and I’m not as down on Chytil and his health as most are. He was one of our best players last night, multiple takeaways, all over the ice. He’s finally starting to look like pre-injury Chytil again.

If Roslovic and Kotkaniemi is enough, the Vancouver GM should just quit

On way to dentist for a filling, but will try and get a blog up on this later. Here are a few quick thoughts:
First rounder - Rangers likely want it lottery protected because there is no guarantee they make the postseason. My guess is Vancouver only would allow that if maybe top-5 or -10’ protected.

Chytil - clears 4.437 mil of salary for the next two seasons plus the remainder of this year. Removes the uncertainty due to health concerns. But Chytil is the team’s most creative center. Plus while not great defensively, I believe he is better than Miller, who is brutal there.

Lindgren- we know he won’t be back next year. If New York moves him, my guess is Will Borgen skates with Adam Fox, Urho Vaakanainen moves up to play alongside K’Andre Miller and Zac Jones opts back in to skate with Brendan Schneider. Maybe Schneider moves from the right to left side on one of the top two pairs. Then New York looks for a d-man at the deadline if in contention.

Miller is brutal defensively? Worse than Chytil...?

Does anyone have a membership to one of those stat mining sites to confirm this?

Ok, nothing amazing as far as defense goes, hows that compared to Chytil?

It's odd to think a 2nd round pick for him, but you never know what a GM on a contending team will cough up for Lindgren, especially if you eat half the cap hit.

Maybe. At 4.5 mil, cap hit is easier to take

Drury can recoup some serious Draft capital if he does things right.

Jones should net a 4th, Vesey a 7th (maybe a 6th), Riley Smith a 3rd (or better is you eat cap), Key a 2nd or conditional 1st (if eat cap), Lindgren 3rd (or better if eat cap), Borgen a 2nd or first rounder. If willing to take the picks for next (not upcoming) draft, then maybe get a better pick, as well.

I do not see any of these RFA or UFA's back next season. Sell high at trade deadline...move Lindgren early before his next injury happens.

Maybe make a trade with Seattle. I hear there's a kid there tearing things up on the ice

You never know when you might get Niederreiter for Victor Rask.
