They’re gonna get some good offers for Risto. I think he’s coming into his own right now and he’s gonna be a bargain for the next three years. I wouldn’t trade him. Like Sanheim with defenseman it just clicks and I feel like it’s done that for him in the last month.

I love Risto, but the problem Ek is the Flyers will not be contenders next year either. They need a 1C and a true 1D, and thus they need to trade their best assets to give themselves a chance to get these players.

Cates does have a wicked shot, he needs to shoot it more. There is more offensive upside there.

That’s a bad plan. Too much can go wrong. Flyers never sell high. Part of why they are in the shape they are in.

If they get good offers absolutely take the best one especially if by some miracle there’s no retained salary. End of discussion. The cap space will be invaluable but most importantly it’ll open a spot for a young dman

Yeah so his trade value can plummet just like frost and bee. Not smart at all. Risto is what he is at this point. Been that way for YEARS

History after Lemieux and Jagr, went to Fleury, Crosby, Malkin, and Staal all top 5 picks. They won't be good next year, probably top 5 again. Next 3 drafts the Pens have 4 1sts, 4 2nds, and 7 3rds. We'll see what they do with those draft picks.
