Not worried about Augie!
Moncton has taken a 3-0 series lead over Quebec with a 4-3 win in OT tonight. Guimond had a 33 save shutout (17th consecutive win with no losses prior to that) in the 2nd game of the series while Rosseau has allowed 6 on 50 shots needing OT to win both games. |

Watson - Goalie Dad
I love the way you laid it out. Are you concerned about Mazur injury wise? |

All of the young guys need to prove they can stay healthy, limit the mistakes and be equal to the older slower vets. I just don’t see any UFA’s that will help move the needle without over paying. I had a typo on Watson he is replaceable as well. |

I agree, Mazur just seems to be continually returning to IR. Reminds me a bit of Svechnikov. Where I think the “deals” will be on the market will be in trades where teams need to shed cap. Personal opinion but a top pairing left shot would be a welcome addition. I think at this point on Watson he’s a role guy, he’s talked about it, but it’s a tougher role than some players can handle. Limited minutes, be physical don’t unpack all your stuff etc. we’ll see who steps up, for sure. Good back and forth, thanks for that |

I got fooled by an April Fool's joke with a real looking headline saying Detroit signed Petry to a 3-year $12.4 million contract. I let my blood pressure start ripping the top of my scalp off, before I realized what the date was.
I'm not going to speculate on specific players, but there's no question that the Wings are going to look very different over the next two years. They have $16 million falling off the books next year, and another $22 million falling off the next. Some of those players will be replaced by rooks and some by FAs. My hope is that there are more rooks than FAs. I'd rather see the kids make or break it than get 30 something cast offs. I'd rather watch young, hungry players trying to develop into everyday NHLers, than guys at the tail end of their careers.
The important thing to remember is that this team does not rise to competitiveness until they have elite goalies. If at least two of Cossa or Augie or Rosseau or Gylander doesn't become elite goalies, they'll stay as a middle of the road team because elite goalies NEVER become available on the trade market, and rarely via trade. |

I definitely want to see Rookies rise up. We need goalie advancement, but the blue line is so porous that it feels like solidifying that lineup, get the friggin PK out of the toilet will give the goalies something more to work with. If getting into the post season is the goal ( at this point) an injection there could go a long way. The attitude shift that saw the initial “bump” has to take hold in how Detroit navigates the summer and how the team functions. Really hoping to see fundamental shifts that open the season strong. |

Should make for an interesting summer. |
