Why didn’t he bail?

I just watched the actual video of Intern Adam crashing into the boards.

His speed is much faster then the video of the little girl. Even with the padding at the end boards, Adam crashes feet first resulting in injuries. My question isn't so much why he didn't bail (at that speed easier said then done) but rather why didn't anyone give him a quick lesson on how to protect himself from the impact of crashing into the end boards in the event it did happen?
