I don't get this cat and mouse game?
Why can't they just sit down for 10+ hours and talk. I might not get negotiations, but to me, it just seems reasonable that they would go into a room, say this is what we want and this is what the other side want. Make compromises, some sides get some things toward their side and in return give up something (like the players get a revenue closer to what they want and in return the NHL extends the RFA period and institutes some rule to stop back or front-loaded deals.
