I went with Jimmy Watson and Bundy. Bundy played more games on defense than any other Flyer in history I believe. He was a solid if unspectacular dman but he was always in the lineup and for the most part did his job.

Solid choices. I went with Jimmy Watson and Bob Dailey. But definitely gave serious consideration to Therien. |

Why do I feel like this team is close to what the 50th Ann Team will be in only a few short years. |

Went with the Watson brothers. Easy choice, IMO.
Bill seemed a little upset that Big John got 93 percent. |

Not upset. He was a shoo-in on my roster, too. But come on.... more votes/ higher percentage than Bernie, Clarke, Howe or Lindros?

Staying local. Saw him drop off the kids last week. I would imagine if others are at the skate zone, he may be as well. |

Bundy would be in the hall of fame if he played Jagr every night.
But Bundy isn't the best athlete of all time. |

I honestly think it shows more over the age bracket that is on here. I believe most haven't seen, Clarke, Barber, Bernie, Pelle play....I could be wrong, but more current guys are getting higher percentage votes.
I mean seriously, look at Coburn's percentage right now...in all honesty he wouldnt even be close to sniffing a reserve spot on this team....it is just the whole, "oh I've seen him play he is good...BAM...I'm voting for him." |

Jimmy Watson was sort of a given.
Went with Derien Hatcher over the rest under the assumption of a circa 1998 version. I think a peak Hatcher was better than a peak Ashbee or Dailey. If I were to go with a peak Flyer performance, I would have gone with Ashbee. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Phantoms Roster Battles, Today's Games, All-Time Roster - bmeltzer
Is it possible that John LeClair popularity comes from a player who is not only more fresh in our minds but also a player who had a hand in breathing new life into the Flyers after a time of misery. It is well documented that the flyers had their struggles during the early 90's to make the playoffs. Even team Captain Rick Tocchet wanted out and got his wish. When we started making the playoffs again, some would call that point in time the Lindros Era. I would rather refer to that time as the Legion of Doom Era. John LeClair was the last member to stay successful in Philly. Also keep in mind that the Flyers and LeClair parted on more positive terms then even Lindros himself. |

Bill,
In a situation where fans are forced to choose one over the other. How do you think fans felt about Clarke and Lindros when they sere at war? I ask more so when Lindros was sitting out a year, rather then he was actually traded. |

People were divided about 50-50 at the time. But this is Clarke the player not the GM up for vote and there was room for both Lindros and him on the fantasy team roster -- and both got around 90 percent of the vote for inclusion.
Still not sure how "only" 88 percent voted for Bernie as one of the top two Flyers goalie, except that I'm sure some didn't vote for him on the basis of having been born after his career.

I was on Lindros' side during the spat. And still am on his side years later.

Speaking of Clarke the GM....when do we get to vote on our Coaches/Ass. coaches and Execs |
