So true...good article. I am going to be off work for 6 weeks mid October due to surgery (nothing serious)...I will not have hockey to occupy my time...so I plan to take in a few Saint John Seadogs games in the Q league and purchase EA Sports NHL13...cause that is as close as I am getting to hockey this season I fear. |

Great read.
So why don't the NHL and PA realise this is a farce and needs to be done.
Like you said, get in the room, order a few pizzas, lock the doors from the outside and we don't let you out until the white smoke appears.
I'm still one of the last optimistics that we'll see hockey this year, because it's a joke to lose a season this way. Pure joke. |

The owners and players really don't care about the fans, they take us for granted. It's all about egos and money.... |

good piece.
I would wager that if either side were truly serious about the good of the game and cared enough about the fans, those who fund the very existence of this league, they'd take their sessions to the next level and talk through the night.
with regards to this, i don't think either side has tried to pretend that they care about the future of the game. (as for the fans, well, we are to the players what the players are to the owners. so it's pointless to ever bring the fans into the lockout argument.) to me, the one thing you can say about this lockout is that both sides have been pretty forthcoming in that this all about money, and that's all either side cares about.
but once those paycheques start disappearing, if i'm a player, i'm starting to ask myself what Donald Fehr is doing. |

depends when the NHLPA caves. only way this thing ends. owners can withstand it more by repurposing their buildings and getting creative. don't think that they're blindsided by this and haven't been preparing for 2-3 years. |

Those who will get hurt the most are the blatantly overpaid ones.
*cough* Gomez *cough* Komisarek *cough*
Also, the fringe NHLers. |

Good read. At this point I really don't have a use or sympathy for either side. They all take us fans for granted and I wish (though we know it won't happen) that all teams fan bases would man up and tell both sides to get bent. I think it would be great if when they finally do start playing if no one showed up for the first game or if entire arenas just watched game one sitting on their hands, not cheering, booing or anything. Just complete silence. That might get the fan's point across.
Again, unfortunately we know that won't happen. |

I have my tickets for the Bulldogs game at the Bell Center on November 9th. I believe this will be the only "professionnal" hockey I'll be watching at least until Christmas.
I don't care for Baseball or Football, so yeah, it will be a long fall/winter
Maybe I'll start watching Glee! |
