KP I am with you, how do you blog about anything. I haven't read a good blog in months. Now they are more like Blahhhg's.

I think I am likely the only habs fan alive who thinks Gomez would have a good year. He couldn't play in the Martin system but the guy still has offensive abilities.
I really think he would have done well.

I was thinking about Gomez just the other day. I saw a guy downtown that looked just like him and something inside me was saying "Man, I'd really like to clock that guy in the teeth", but I couldn't put my finger on why.

Cole lost all credibility once he donned the "Puck Gary" hat.

Kamal, the part in the players proposal about salaries greater then 1M in the AHL still counting against the NHL Cap, is only for new contracts signed after a new CBA is agreed to.

The amount in excess of $1M paid to a player while in the minor leagues or in Europe on an NHL contract counts against the cap (none counts against the share). This applies only to new contracts, i.e., contracts entered into after a new CBA is in effect.

Come on, Kamal!

As if Habs fans aren't depressed enough by the lockout... you have to go and bring up Scott Gomez?

You could be right, Bry...and yes, you ARE the only one who thinks Gomez could be turned around.

;-)

The bottom line, however, is that I feel Bergevin has more options now than he did when he first came on board.

People were just waiting for him to dump Gomez...and I was pretty convinced it would happen.

It still might if there is an amnesty buyout period once the new CBA is signed...but we'll have to see.

Can't argue with you there.

Funny or not, things like that don't help the situation at all.

Ahhh....gotcha...

Still, I'm not sure it makes a difference either way to what Bergevin ultimately decides to do with Gomez...

I'm not sure that Hab fans would forget just how bad a contract is on the books even after a 5 year lockout! If he starts the season on the roster it is still a joke.

Also... I agree with the previous post regarding Cole's D-bag hat... brutal...

Eric Cole is a loser. The guy was overpaid for a multiple no show seasons and he has the nerve to call Hamrlik selfish.

I don't mean to harp on this but somebody should remind Cole that he's a Montreal Canadien with certain responsibilities that extend beyond his own self-interest... locked-out or not. He should show respect to the great players who wore the jersey before him, as well as those that support him, by at least attempting to act like a professional.

That's a fair assessment and a very good point.

He had a great season last year, can't say otherwise. On the ice, love the guy, off the ice after that Puck Gary hat BS.....many fans lost a lot of respect for him. He is totally brainwashed by Fehr.....drinking the koolaid big time.

Each lockout day that passes is a day I don't see Gomez in a Habs jersey.
Nothing wrong with that.
You think the lockout could end in April 2014?
