Is it many reasons for Niko Hovinen struggling? - ob18
I am sure there are a variety of factors at work: first season on the small rink, injuries, mechanical adjustments, etc. But I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad concerned by Williams calling out Hovinen for "not competing" on two of the goals he let in last Friday.

That could be bad if he takes it wrong he may never come back mentality |

messier looked like he jumped 10 feet in the air to pull that puck down. gene hart's call of that play amuses me to no end - the emotion in his voice is fantastic.
marsh, as i have said many times, is my favorite flyers dman of all time. broke my heart when he was traded. - hammarby31
I didn't see the rest of the Messier play unfold after he jumped up and intercepted the clearing attempt. I screamed "NO!" and closed my eyes until the buzzer sounded and the crowd roared. Only saw it on replay later. |

For me, this story is bittersweet. I was at the game. When it was clear the game was in hand, my friend, and the guy who drove, insisted that we leave early to beat the exit traffic. Against my better judgement, I reluctantly agreed to leave, as I didn't have much of a choice. Long story short, I missed the historic goal and had no idea it even happened until I got home and my dad greeted my by saying, "did you enjoy watching history?". "You've got to be kidding me!", I said.
I have never let my friend live down that night and to this day refuse to leave any Flyers game early to "beat the traffic". |

I don't understand how people could just leave games early. |

I was also lucky enough to have attended Game 6 in 1987. My seats were 2nd row inside near the Flyers defensive blue line for the 1st & 3rd period so that play at the end was right in front of me. It scared the whole building to death. |

I love avoiding traffic, but the way I do it is to stay in my seat after the game - usually until the ushers say, "Come on, let's go...". Then I lollygag around the arena. By the time I get to the car, the parking lot is just about empty and the ride home is clear.

Thanks, Bill. My 8 year old loves Hexy because of that goal, in part. He dressed up as Hexy for Holloween (his idea). |

That's what we did when the Phantoms won the Calder Cup in 2005. We got to celebrate with everyone as they left on the Broad Street side. Then, when the number of cars dwindled down to but a few, we left and had an easy time of it getting home.

I love this picture.
Why? I have no idea.
But I love it. |

Michael Young, as predicted, is a Phillie.
Thoughts?
I'm smelling a contender already, barring nasty injuries such as last year. |

Let's not be silly now....much better off than last year but I wouldn't say a contender. Too many question marks.
I like the deal though they hardly gave anything for short term plug to a huge hole. Love Revere as well.... |

Bonilla could become something special but may not. They addressed a glaring issue @3rd bass and added offense. Good on the Phils IMO. |

Bizarre comment. Phillies were very good when healthy last year |
