Sekera for gagner seriously? Im gonna guess you started on the rum and egg nog hours befor writing this blog. As far as the world class defence its gonna take time but with hopeful optimism and steady developement things will get better in edmonton.

Havent seen or heard much about him throughout the year. Hes been relatively quiet all tournament and NHL Network here doesnt show any of their games.

Those goals were impressive.

If RJ rolled the "R" in Armia like the Finnish commentators do, I'd cry with joy.

Garth, nice thoughts, but no foresight. 1) no one is trading Gagner for Sekera straight up. 2) we have a crowded blueline for this non-season only. Last I looked Pardy, Sulzer, Regehr, and Leopold are all UFA's after this year. That opens up instant slots for McNabb and Brennan.

We are also no longer thin down the middle. Ennis, Hodgson and now Grigorenko are the Sabres top three going forward, with Ott and Leino available for emergency work. In fact, while we can always use a player like Gagner, we have no top 9 slots once Grigorenko makes the team. (Vanek, Hodgson, Pominville, Foligno, Ennis, Stafford, Leino, Grigorenko, Ott, plus Gerbe.)
