I understand the NHLPA wanting a bulldog like Fehr. I went through a divorce a few years ago, and I went out and found the nastiest bulldog biatch of a lawyer I could find. Without a doubt she would have gone to the end of the earth (or my pocketbook) to get me everything I could get. The thing was, I was happy with getting enough, didn't need everything so I had to hold back her reins and keep her under control. That's what the players are missing, that sense of control over Fehr. He leads them around like a bunch of lost puppies.

I think too much is made about the re-vote for disclaimer anyhow. It's simply a process that allows the PA to add another tool to their belt. At this point, I'd be surprised if there's not a season. The sides are too close on the main areas, and none of the three alone are worth scuttling a whole season over.

the (frank)ing guy is brilliant and a good soldier for his client, if you were a player you would want him in your corner, Bettman is obviously intimidated by Fehr, the fans are collateral damage but to onus to end this madness is on the owners and in the end the fans will hate the owners as much as they do Bettman after the puck drops

hard to have members of the NHLPA in 4 continents lead him unilaterally

His job is to lead them. He's an experienced negotiator. Probably 70% of his clientele are limited to high school education level, and maybe 20% have a 4 year college degree. The NHL employs one of the most prestigious law firms in the world, with some of the best labor negotiators going.

If I was a player, I'd let Fehr lead me around too, especially against foes like Bettman and Bob Batterman

I remember watching players being interviewed complaining that the league won't agree to the pension when it would be funded completely by the players... If that was true a few months ago why are they frustrated now that the league won't guarantee money for the pension?

The language that p*ssed off the players/NHLPA was on the offer submitted on Dec 27th....so does Bettman/Daly have to read this to them? Its his job to read over the damn document. Odds are Fehr knew this all along and pulled this card out to ensure he could get a the necessary votes on disclaimer of interest.

Of course they knew. Id bet a ton of cash on them knowing that the HRR changes we're negative on December 27th. Fehr's leaving options open.

Honestly, nitpicking over who is a bigger douchebag between Fehr & Bettman is like choosing which Mexican food dish is better. They're all meat, cheese & tortilla. Fehr & Bettman are both douchebags that don't give a rat's testicles about the fans. All either one gives a poop about is getting their paws into your wallet
