I live in London, ON and it'll be cool to see Stolarz play in person.
Flyers D will be fine. But it doesn't even matter really because Claude Giroux told me Bryz was gonna be the best goalie in the NHL this year. |

I doubt anyone expected Meszaros to be at 100% during this short season. There are options out there that the Flyers can explore, though. |

I could be wrong, but following the initial injury wasnt the word that Mez would be lucky to be back by March/April? Why are people surprised he isnt 100%? |

And his partner on defense will be an actual, living breathing NHL level defenseman, so he should benefit from that, as the Leafs never had one during his time there |

still don't get how we didn't reeceive more for JVR. another instance where homer seemingly imagined a gun to his head during the transaction. |

no. esp considering that this deal was in place for the duration that was discussed, homer came up short in this instance |

Kind of hard to fully judge a deal before either of the players involved have taken a shift for their new teams.
I'll grant I expected more of a return for JvR. That said, I think Luke Schenn will be a fine addition for the Flyers. He's big and physical, and he's free from the massive expectations in Toronto. He's going to benefit from being around guys like Timonen and even Pronger if the latter stays around in some kind of capacity.

Nonsense. It's 0-48-0 this year. |

How do you know that Holmgren came up short in this instance? Both players are young player with potential. |

not so much a knock on schenn as much as undervaluing a pwr forward who had shown flashes of excellence on a big stage |

Schenn has played a top role as a defenseman on a team as a 21 year old. The same potential is there. Defense is a far more important position then a Winger. Especially on a team that lacks young defensive prospects. |

Yeah, uh, the problem was that the next year his ice time was reduced 6 minutes a game and he went from 30 to about 23 shifts... not to mention spending time on the pine.
He seems to have one good then one bad season... so maybe he will be great this year.
I can tell you that long before the trade from Toronto, my opinion was that he was nowhere near an NHL caliber defenseman last season. Only his draft position kept him in the line up as much as he was. He was HORRIBLE. |

What MJL said. Philly needs what Luke Schenn brings to the table.
I think if we pair him with Timonen they would be a very effective pairing. It would be a big change for Luke Schenn to play with a quick defenseman who makes very few mistakes. |
