I think that after the Montreal game, that the Flyers are carrying a chip around on their shoulders. I think they're still mad, and despite the build-up and win over Pittsburgh, they may be a bit ticked at blowing the 4-2 lead

Hopefully so. The Panthers are banged up again and pretty much floundering, so the Flyers should be fine if they take the game to Florida early.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Boucher tomorrow, though
Bill do you think Voracek playing with Giroux is really why he has excelled lately or is it he might just be turning the corner on his development? He was turning it on for at least a week consistently even before being on Girouxs line. I really see him growing in confidence and his vision is so great...Seems to be getting better in his own end as well.
Also Why is Knuble still in this line up? I would rather have Mcginn in there with his hustle and forecheck. Knubles best before date has been reached and see him nothing but a liabilty on the ice.

I like McGinn but he still has things to learn. He works hard in all situations but his skating and D need additional refinement before he takes a full-time spot in the lineup where he won't come out of the lineup as a healthy scratch candidate.
My biggest thing with Knuble -- and this is something that hasn't changed over the years -- is that while he's an undeniably smart and savvy guy, he sure takes a lot of careless penalties. On the flip side, watch how many times Knuble is the one who finally makes a clear from the defensive zone when the Flyers have been pinned. In a big game situation, he's still capable of scoring a big goal.
Re: Voracek, his current hot streak started while he was still on Brayden Schenn's line. In the playoffs last year, he had that big series against Pittsburgh while mostly playing on Couturier's line (it wasn't until tail end of series that Jagr's leg injury worsened and he moved down in lineup for rest of the playoffs while Voracek was elevated).
Of course, playing with Giroux can only help a player.

Knuble is still a workhorse along the boards too. Aside from the double minor stickwork I didn't see much to fault Knuble for in the game vs. the Pens.

His penalties have been bad but I have seen him consistently winning board battles and doing real good grunt work in front of the net.

He is. But McGinn is also quite good along the walls. Where McGinn still has some improvements to make -- and it's a matter of refining his technique, because he'll definitely put it the work -- is in the defensive zone.

I would keep him in the line-up. - flyer_nutter
I was advocating that he'd be the guy that sits when Harts gets back. Keep McGinn in there...but Knuble still can play the game decently. He is slow and he has always been penalty prone...especially in the offensive zone with his stick, but he is a hoss, has savvy, and has apparently embraced a leadership role. I didn't know until today that he was a vocal lead party (after Giroux) in calling out the team after the montreal game.

Speaking of D zone, Knuble has been part of the vastly improved PK over the last few weeks. As much as I like McGinn, he is not ready to fill Knuble's shoes in that regard.

Bill, any guess as to why McGinn has been a healthy scratch? What wasn't he doing that Harry Z or Rinaldo bring to the team?
And someone needs to teach Coots how to finish a breakaway and take a shot... It seems that passing is his 1st, 2nd, and 3rd option. - wolfhounds
The goals will come one day soon for Cooter. I thought he had his best game of the year tonite and I we are seeing just a glimpse of how good he is going to be down the road. What a game tonight, totally unreal!
Yup. See below. Never a bad thing to have a beast on the boards PKing. Pretty sure I read somewhere that he is seeing PK time in his current Flyers stint too.
