Pretty good....this is from 118. I believe A is front row. I've set in that row directly next to the visitors box.....that was fun

118 is the half boards, in the Islanders 1st & third period defending zone. On the team bench side of the ice. Good Tickets if you like up against the glass.

What another amazing game for the Islanders yesterday. They are battling like crazy out there. Kyle Okposo penalty in teh third period was a thing of beauty. Way to go Kyle you are really doing some awesome work out there. I thought the boys looked great. We are on our way to the playoffs boys. Jack is the best coach I have ever seen. He got them motivated to get two points. Lets Go Islanders |

your going to take the LIRR and go? who cares if the coliseum is run down. I love the atmosphere there, even though im a fan of the opposing team. Tickets are at least very affordable and you end up having the same good time as you would at a newer arena. mind you at wells fargo center i paid 60$ to sit in the very last row of the nosebleed of a regular season game against carolina.... - Philly1980
Eh, while it's nice to know you can always get a cheap ticket at the Coliseum, I'd trade that any day for a team that's a good enough draw to fill the house more and justify higher-priced tickets. At least it wouldn't be embarrassing being on national TV and seeing the other team's fans fill most of the lower bowl. Will it be like that in Brooklyn? Who knows. Team has to get better no matter where they play, but it's a step in the right direction I think. And speaking selfishly...it'll be a lot easier for me to get to games. |

I think its going to hurt them...it might be popular the first year but after that? Personally Nassau should have built them a new stadium. They are making the stadium now harder and more expensive for the fan base to get to.... |

i will NOT take the LIRR...ill take the subway.
aside from coliseum being run down from a fans perspective, more importantly its so far behind in terms of gym/locker room/amenities for the players that i believe it takes away from Free Agents from signing with the team....cant wait for barclay center |

they are making it harder for the CURRENT fanbase who live in nassau and suffolk to get there...but bk is much more centrally located and will attack a whole new group of people because it is more convenient and accessible. i dont see ANY downside to the move. |

Not to mention, there are some big interests at the Brooklyn arena that will have something riding on the Isles' success there. I expect marketing, outreach to corporate sponsors, etc. to be kicked up to another level. It definitely won't be business as usual. It almost has to succeed.
And the biggest thing will be how the team itself does. I've lived a couple of hours from the Coliseum for a few years now. I have to say, the drive seemed a lot shorter in 06-07 when I at least knew I'd see 100% effort on the ice, if not necessarily a win. With how much of a crapshoot it is wondering which team's going to show up these days...the one that played Montreal or the one that played the Flyers...it's not as easy of a decision to spend the gas, tolls and frankly the precious time. I imagine it'll be the same for Long Island folks with Brooklyn. If a serious effort is made to make the team better, and they have some success and leave it all on the ice every game, people who have suffered through these garbage years won't want to miss out on what's going on should the team turn things around. They'll show. |

I don't see any downside to them moving anywhere to get out of that f***ing dump. The fact that it's Brooklyn, and I can still go see their home games, makes it even better. |

I would have definitely preferred they stay at Nassau but I don't see how the move can be anything but good for the health of the franchise. It's not like Nassau wasn't warned and given ample opportunity. It's funny to me, being from outside of NY, to read messageboards with comments from non hockey fans still trying to justify their 'no' vote. To my understanding, the $400 million stadium that was proposed after the Lighthouse Project died would have cost the average citizen about $50 per year. Instead now, they'll have to spend more than double that to travel down for the circus, concerts etc. And let's not forget, Wang originally offered to finance his project with a majority of his own funds. That Coliseum will become a monument to politicians failure to do what was best for the community...hopefully they'll also witness the New York Islanders become reborn with a new venue as they watch from afar. |

Hope the Isles keep Finley in the lineup. Not that he's been fantastic...some clear defensive lapses -- he has to stop going behind the net when Streit's already there...but the man actually hit and knocked over a forward coming across the blue line yesterday. And as big as he is, his shoulder was nowhere near the forward's head. Isles need that presence. Too many of them just back up and give up the blue line too easily. In a normal world, I think Strait and Finley would make a good 5/6 pair. |

Hey now JAck is doing the best he can. I mean he is putting the best line up out there for us to win. Playoffs in reach a hockey minded coach. He knows who to bench at the right time. Lets Go Islanders |
