After conferring, referees Steve Kozari and Francis Charron gave Voracek 19 minutes worth of penalties (two for instigation with an automatic 10-minute misconduct, two for failing to remove his visored helmet before fighting, and five for fighting) to five for Oleksy. As a result, the Flyers were left shorthanded for four minutes.

I would love to see a stat on how often the penalty for fighting with a visor is ever levied. It seemed arbitrary in how Voracek got slapped with that one.

Also, removal of the helmet seems like an accident waiting to happen if a player gets knocked out and hits their head on the ice. Expecting players in the heat of battle to remove their helmets is not terribly reasonable, unless the fight is, for lack of a better word, staged.

Anyone worrying about the Clowe trade from the old Bill thread , not sure if this one is an April Fools type thing also....

Thats terrible for Max as he was starting to gain confidence in his offense side of things again...terrible not just for the flyers but Talbot in general..Now who takes his spot? I assume Wellwood or Harry Z brought back up unless we see another trade. Amazing how players this season have been dropping like flies for this team.

At least we can put the "trade Talbot" discussion to rest. Guys like Feds and Knuble should still be dealt, regardless of being 2 points back. They both increased any value they have in a trade by recent play.

With all these injuries to specific players, it might be a blessing in disguise. Briere, Talbot, Coburn, Grossmann, Meszaros were guys being thrown out there in trade scenarios leading up to the TDL. Now Homer can wait until the draft and after to make any sort of roster-altering moves involving any of these guys.

You can fight with a visor, its when you get the instigator, you can be assessed the instigating with a visor penalty too. Voracek jumped that idiot, hence all the penalties. At least I think that is how it goes.

Ah, so the visor thing kicks in when you get the instigator? Where I was watching the game, there was no sound, so I was only guessing and folks I follow on twitter didn't say anything about that.
