Nope. I'd want no part of Smith.
or do you guys want Louongo??
I'd be fine with Luongo if the price was right (after a CBO, not via trade). |

No. Tried that whole "Sign a Vezina candidate from Phoenix" route.
Actually, I like Smith, but I worry that he'd have issues behind Laviolette's system. Also, he'll be expensive. |

Bill Meltzer: Meltzer's Musings: Flyers Interested in Austrian Duo? - bmeltzer
Would Starkbaum be interested in leaving Europe to play for the Phantoms? Looking at his stats, it seems to me he'd be looking to prove himself in the NHL, rather than the AHL. Outside of his page on hockey reference/eliteprospects I have little knowledge of him
If that's the case, does signing Starkbaum mean moving on from Bryzgalov? |

Bill- With the reports of the Flyers having interest in Allsvenskan and elitistarian(butcher job) players, what's the hub-bub on Sunshine? Last I heard of him, he was playing very well.
Thanks |

If he were to sign here, I think the expectations from the Flyers would be the same as they were for Johan Backlund -- come to NHL camp, do well in the AHL and possibly earn an in-season promotion.
Personally, I don't think either Starkbaum or Raffl is coming here, but I'm passing it along since it was reported in Sweden.

Bill, do you think the Flyers may take another look at Joacim Eriksson? He's put up some solid SEl numbers the last 2 years. It may be that he doesn't want to come over, but it'd be worth looking into I think. |

So, Aftonbladet is a red herring?
But hearing he's more Backlund than Cechmanek makes sense, they need goalie depth beyond Heeter and Stolarz. |

It is nice to get Flyer news from you Bill. This playoff year seems off without the Flyers in it. Hopefully when the guys get back into next year they use this year as motivation to get back into the playoffs. Im excited to see what the off season brings. Until then I will enjoy the playoffs |

Last month he said he's interested in the NHL but the "timing has to be right." Quite frankly, I think the time is now. He backstopped his team to the Swedish championship this season and is at least as advanced as Bruins prospect Niklas Svedberg (the AHL's Rookie of the Year this year after winning the Swedish championship with Brynäs last year).

I was telling the Fan590 that it's always been my dream to shoot down a trade offer from a Sabres fan
Vanek would be a great addition, and playing with Giroux, he could probably put up 45-50 goals. But the Flyers have major cap issues, and even if they buy out Briere and Bryzgalov, they won't have a ton of room. |

Bill, I posted to yesterday's article. A trade scenario that works for both teams.
Flyers get: K. Yandle and 12th pick. Phoenix gets: B. Coburn, M. Read, N. Cousins and 41st pick. Flyers then take both R. Pullock and best player available. Your thoughts? |
