Whoever they sign at goalie this summer, just let it be for no longer than 4 years. Please! |

I'm certainly NOT saying that I expect pursuing Thomas to the Flyers' number one plan right now even if Thomas ultimately elects to return to hockey (which is pretty much a now-or-never proposition at his age). What I'm saying that if he does return, it wouldn't be totally out of left field -- or perhaps more fittingly in Thomas' case, right field -- if the Flyers were the team that ended up signing him if he becomes a UFA. There is also a chance he plays in Europe instead of the NHL.
Totally agree.
The Flyers bringing in Tim Thomas would be the most Flyers thing ever.

I could see the Islanders tolling his contract, jut to try and recoup an asset out of him. |

I want to see Mason get a real shot here, and many of these guys would immediately relegate him to the backup role again. That'd probably be it for Mason's career, and I think there's more to him than that. With that in mind, Khudobin sounds pretty good to me.
If the team has no confidence that Mason can do it, and they decide to make a move for a starter, I want it to be Bernier, since he seems best equipped of the available options to stabilize us for good. Halak's probably my third choice. |

All things considered, here's the order of which guy I want for next year:
1) Halak
2) Bernier
3) Khubodin
4) Emery
5) Thomas
6) Luongo
7) Svedberg
8) Backstrom
9) Nabokov
10) Miller |

I'd love them to get Svedberg somehow. If they can get Halak, I could see it as a 65/35 split between he and Mason. |

Bill, what about Jonas Hiller? With the emergence of Fasth, does that make Hiller expendable being that he's a UFA after next year? |

Halak is an intriguing name to me. Not too expensive and has shown the ability to be a beast in the playoffs. - Jsaquella
Exactly how badly are his bridges burned in St. Louis, do you think? I'm curious about what he'd cost. |

Well, Ken Hitchcock hating on a player has cost the Flyers in the past.
Maybe we'll be on the other end of that karmic exchange this time? |

I thought the same thing. It gives you a proven "cheapish" backup plan if Mason cant sustain the level of play he had late in the season. I don't think he will play that out of his mind like he did but I mean playing at an above average level. Halak would be a nice "fall back" option. |

Thanks. I will keep an eye out. I'm going to tweet them about buying in bulk. If I have to buy 200 gallons of Dippin Dots, I might. |

Pending what kinda shape Tim Thomas has been in this past year, and if he's willing to come back, and also willing to play for Philly, i'd really like the duo of Mason and Thomas which combined cap hit would likely be lower that Bryz's alone.. I was in Bryz's corner for awhile through the good and bad but im ready to pull the plug on this circus |

Oh, well I'm sure that kept him limber and in good game shape.
Sign him, Homer! And be sure to trade for Buffy Cheesesteak as well. |
