Adam,

Is Morissey the best pmd in this draft class? If so, why is he going so late and how does he compare to Morgan Rielly who got drafted a lot higher then what u suspect Morrisey to get drafted.

Gotta think the Jets go offense. Especially if Domi is still their.

I will be shocked if the Blue Jackets take a defenseman with 14. We need skilled forwards, and have plenty of young d in the system.

If the Flyers can't get Ristolainen then I hope they take Pulock. 100+ MPH shot. Maybe Timonen & Streit can teach him a thing or 2 on the PP. With that said, I hope they pick a d-man & develop him properly.

I would say he is. Compared to Rielly they're a bit different, Rielly is the much better passer and most scouts praise him for his "smarts" which I haven't seen connected that much to Morrissey.

Ya, I figured that too, I have you guys grabbing two forwards later with the other picks, but I really love Morrissey, he's a wildcard in this draft.

You're on fire French, took the hotstove over a week to get their 3 mock draft articles out. You already got 2 since this morning

Hey French in your opinion, which Dmen should we keep an eye out for who could potentially slide to the 2nd round and still become impact NHL players?

Shea Theodore, Chris Bigras and maybe Madison Bowey...some have Hagg going outside the top-30 so if he did I'd add him to that list. Heatherington is also highly regarded as an early 2nd rounder. The big one though would be Ian McCoshen, had a really good year offensively and he's big and mean as well, only issue is that he was the PP option of the most stacked scoring team in the USHL.

Had to stop at 15 didn't you.... couldn't of let 16 out of the bag for the Sabre fans..

I am deciding who is even left... Mantha, Gauthier, Zykov, Lazar, Domi, Morin, Erne, Fucale, Rychel....

If Buffalo gets Nichuskin in the first.. that is a top RW prospect.. I wouldn't mind anyone listed....

But.. at 16.. I'd want Lazar, Mantha, or Morin..

Which of those players do you think has the best shot to become a top line pairing if given time to develop. Also are any of them bigger Dmen who can dominate their own zone or are they all mostly smaller offensive players?

McCoshen, he's 6'3 and plays like it, big hits, big risks, big rewards. Sometimes does stupid things.

15. The New York Islanders select Defenseman Nikita Zadorov of the London Knight’s in the OHL.

Yup... I actually did my internship with the Blackhawks and know McCoshen pretty well. it is weird to see him go from a 16 year old kid who was the shyiest kid I have ever seen to the player he is today. Same with Eamon McAdam.

Thats actually awesome as hell. I am sure it was a blast. Do you think McCoshen could be a star in this league one day?

The main reason I am asking is now that the avs are more than likely talking an Offensmen #1 overall (Mckinnon or Barkov), you would think a lot of that has to do with them seeing a Dman in the 2nd round like Haag(hagg?) or McCoshen that they think is the real deal.

My internship ended when he was still only like 16... back then he was a chubby guy but you could tell he had power and a mean side to him. Did I ever think he would be a possible 1st round pick... probably not.. but McAdam was a tiny little 125 lbs kid too at age 15 when i started working with him. I was their strength coach. Vinny Hinastroza who was drafted by the blackhawks last year was a little bulldog of a kid too that i coached.

To answer your question though.... I think it would take him 2-3 years before he is a difference maker and makes an NHL roster.

How do you know that? If they feel Barkov is the best player at 2, they take him there.
