You dont think Habs take Jordan Subban with 36? Or are they waiting for 56 or whatever their next pick is.

I think Subban if he had any other name would be a 3rd round gamble. 5'9 PP specialists have their uses, but they're also very rare at the NHL level.

Hartman.

This is a kid I want. Yes he's not exactly huge, but neither are Marchand and Shaw and they sure looked pretty good this year.

Philly is going to take a center when they have laughton, cousins, schenn, giroux, couturier. talbot UFA. I could see them stock up on D like the islanders did last year.

He has been touted more of a Ryan Callahan or Dustin Brown type of player.

I wouldn't complain. Was just more throwing out how good smaller players can be.

The thing is centers don't take as long to develop and aren't as big of crap shoots. Can draft a center and do one of two things, do what they did the last time they had too many centers which was trade some or they can do what Boston does which is convert to wingers.

Surprised to see Fucale and Petan slide so far.

Goalies seem to be sliding more and more these days, there usually is somebody willing to make a big leap of faith like Tampa on Vasilevski, Boston on Subban or the Coyotes on Visentin, but most top tenders seem to slip into the early 2nd. Petan, love him, but he's tiny, that always hurts.

That kind of player was much more important the first 2 years after the lockout.

That player now is hardly relevant.

Oh no they are still very important, the Sabres would be wise to trade for Tomas Kaberle.

That being said, would love to see the Oilers grab a potential top 6 centre with size with the 37th pick.

Thoughts on Carrier?

Carrier is a winger, but he's a pretty good player. Injury and that scrap heap of a team they call the Eagles really hurt his draft position. Has some second line upside, but can still cut it as a 3rd line scorer with some bang.

Won't have to trade for him, Habs are officially buying him out later this week

I'd rather have Derosiers (spelling?) from what I saw of him at the U18's he could be a very good goalie in the future. That being said I think Dubnyk can still be our guy and will be a solid goalie in the future

Height's are always tricky/stupid, like how Jones is listed at 6'4 and Barkov 6'2, yet they're the exact same height...hell Barkov looks a smidge taller

I'd say 37 is a bit high for Jarry. We could pick up a better player and still have the 50th pick available for either Jarry or Comrie.
