I would love to see Thomas back in the NHL as a starter. Seeing his highlight reel saves were quite enjoyable for me!

but politics aside. he put the spotlight squarely on himself and not the team. that was the issue. not his politics. it's not a secret that was a me first pain in ass in the locker room.

Rasheed Wallace of the Detroit Pistons didn't go to the Whitehouse after they won the championship '04 because of the President at the time. The press never made much of a big deal of it. "That's just Rasheed". "He has that right". "Not that big of a deal". These were some of the comments from the press.

Just found it a bit hypocritical from at least the Detroit media in Tim's case that's all.

Anyway, thanks for the bio. In one word: Perseverance.

All indications are Tim Thomas will make a decision today and likely join the Florida Panthers. The Canucks are also and option, as is a KHL team...but Thomas wants to play and start in the NHL.

Someone pointed out the lack of reaction about Rasheed Wallace not going to the White House. Perfect example of the media's hypocrisy in their treatment of Tim.

The logical fit would have been the Avs. Tim being from CO and their having a young goaltender who could learn from his work habits. Why didn't it happen? Why were there so few takers? Because they know it would be a distraction to bring him in as the US media would be constantly focusing on his politics.

In any event, I really hope Thomas joins my Panthers! A Thomas/Markstrom tandem sounds awesome. The Panthers need a real goaltender to help mentor Markstrom as well as take over the reigns when things get dirty. Clemmensen is just awful and if Markstrom gets hurt/Clemmer starts.. It's almost a surefire loss.

This is what Tallon sees and Tallon has the courage to not give a rat's ass about the press. Good for him and shame on those who black listed Thomas because of his beliefs... or rather the beliefs of the press.
