Wow that sucks. Hopefully he will be just fine and back soon. Looks like McLeod was gonna make a hit anyways and Kronwall turned and got himself into a worse position. Looks like all parties knew the icing was waived. |

All the Wings did to much standing around in their own in. Against a team with a lot of speed like the Avs that can be dangerous. They pulled it out though, and showed some offense which was nice. |

After Shanahan gave Kaleta 10 games for a hit that didn't result in a penalty or injury, this should be what 40 games? |

This. He doesn't have the history of Kaleta. Of course he should have gotten suspended a few years ago but skated on it. |

Kronwall was clearly trying to put the breaks on and get McLeod to go past him. Just McLead had the right line and Kronwall went right into the hit. Sure sucks. The onus here is on the Dman putting himself in a more dangerous position. Offensive players cant give up on the play if its icing thats been waived. NHL Dman just better start taking notice and being more aware |

stupid hit - but an even worse move by a vet D man putting himself in such a horrible position.
truth is, kronwall should have just taken the hit and put the puck behind the net. he tried to get out of the way, and it made things worse.
stupid move by cody to continue to hit when the numbers were showing, so yea, 2 games to think about how stupid that was.
glad kronwall is ok. |

Kronwall turned long before he got hit. McLoser had plenty of time to let up or change his angle but instead he adjusts so as to hit Kronwall's head into the dasher. Clearly it was a dirty hit.
Will he get as many games as Kaleta, probably not. He'll probably get five or more though and he should. |

He has an in person hearing. They don't always give you five for those but it's definitely not going to be just two.

This is the first time in a long time where there was a suspension worthy play and the majority of fans of both teams weren't freaking the fvck out. None of the usual "Player A had it coming" and "Player B should be suspended for life" type of bullsiht you normally hear. |

i cant find any information on his previous offenses, can you?
either way. the player dishing out the hit is always to blame, not the player receiving it.
he will be suspended because its the right thing to do. but not more than 5games |

Cherry has been correct for years---there should be no-touch icing to protect the players, especially the "D". This "hybrid" icing rule is a tragic farce. What's it going to take before the League gets it right---a death? There's already been numerous concussions and broken bones/torn ligaments that players have sustained in races for the puck on icing plays. |

I don't see a suspension. McLeod was looking to make a clean hit but Kronwall turned at the last second. Hope he's alright. Actually looked like McLeod was trying to avoid him at the last second |

All well & good but has nothing to do with this play, if that were going to be icing it would have been blown dead under hybrid or no-touch, puck didn't make it to the red line.
Tough play, McLeod came in a little too hot, but that's so reactionary when a guy reverses on you like that. Looked like he just tried to pinch him off on the boards more than anything and unfortunately the only thing there was Kronwalls noggan. |

I'm a homer, but it's clear as day to me that McLeod adjusted course after Kronwall turned, so as to hit him. Suspension-worthy? Certainly, but I would hate to be in Shanny's position of decided how long to suspend the guy.
Truth be told, it's that sap (Mike Haynes, I believe?) who said, "Well, I'll tell you what, you talk about getting a little of your own medicine" that should get the boot. |

Ogi Ogi Ogi.. Kronwalled by definition doesn't include drilling someone in the back. I know you are more intelligent than that. Sometimes that is the only way to get back at one of the best open ice hitters in the game for some.
If Laperierer got 5, I'm thinking 3-5. |

I hope he is ok but lets not gloss over a career that was made throwing hits to injure rather than get the puck. |

No. It can be up to 5. Anything less is a phone call. I believe the Canucks's Edler had an in person meeting but only given 3. |
