Seems to me that Timo understood being demoted. Maybe a better headline would have been: "Timonen Vows to be Better" ?

I'd think he's angry at himself? Which counts.
I like this by Berube. This is basically the last straw to grasp. Every player in that locker room should be busting their ass for Timonen knowing that the real team leader got kicked off the top PP. Guys should be mad at Berube for this, and I think thats some of his intention.
If this doesnt work, Ekblad can save us. |

Agreed. I hope he comes out strong. His response seems to be that of a leader on the team.
The move is a no brainer... he looks tired or hurt, back off some minutes by taking him off the PP, and also maybe motivate him as well as show everyone on the team, no one is safe. |

shouldve happened f u c k ing years ago, never saw a player so adept at missing the net. ill say it again, least intense player in the league |

His lack of perception is glaring. Sigh. |

Look at how bad this team is. The time for entitlement is LONG gone. Granted I don't think Timonen feels that way and this is more of Panacc spinning the story a bit. |

i mean i like all the good parts of timo's game like everyone out there, but i just cant stand how people are so blind to the holes in his game.
Yea hes as tough as anyone in the league and hes a likable guy and a proven veteran and yada yada, but unlike every other flyers fan, im not just gonna overlook his ability to slow the game down in the worst possible sense of the term, his infallible precision at missing nets, his complete and utter lack thereof urge to score, and the way he gets thrown around like a rag doll by the oppostion.
timo, u'd be nice playing 3/4 the minutes u play, on the 2nd pp unit, getting paid 3 million. Thanks for ur service |

not disputing any of that really
i just thought your calling him the least intense player in the league was absurd. might not be the most vocal guy but I never see him mailing it in. I realize its a while back but i'll never forget him against the Habs in the second round in 08. the guy was a (frank)ing menace. yapping and chippy and bearded. |

Well, that is the Viking way. Granted, he comes from the least Viking of the great nations, but he still has it in him. |

Is there a different Kimmo Timonen then the one I've watched play during his Flyers career? Must be!

timonen listens, as he takes 20 seconds to wait behind his own net during a power play |

You mean when he's waiting for the forwards to get organized on the breakout on the PP? You'd think after 14 years in the NHL, he'd have learned something.
