Can't remember.I guess if you ='re not taking a roster spot from someone productive, then 2 fighters isn't a bad thing. Might be a good deterrent for some of the heavier teams that like to throw their weight around. |

The big move up Burkes sleeve is the Phaneuf back to Calgary.
It's what has been holding up the deal, Dion knows its a sign and trade.

McGrattan is too much of a team player to be moved during a rebuild. The guy mentors half of the locker room, and he always shows up to play hard. No way is he being moved.
Adding Westgarth is just to provide extra muscle for games when it is necessary, or to add extra fire to the team when they're not performing up to expectations. He's the typical "Sit a talented underperformer, dress the hard working fourth liner" addition to the team. Burke likes to have two or three bonafide tough guys on his team anyways. Now we have a potential crash and bang fourth line of Westgarth / Bouma \ McGrattan. |

Yeah, they could have their way with Hall,RNH,and Eberle if they wanted too. Of course they might get lit up four or 5 times a game if they were matched up against them.
Still, pretty handy to have when LA or the Ducks roll into town. |

I think it's safe to say that this trade instantly makes Calgary contenders. |

No, but it's safe to say they can probably beat the poop out of a lot of other teams players. |

I know one place he could stick one, although I hope he never gets the chance. |

That's an intimidating line… Westgarth and Gratts together? Players will be punching themselves after dirty hits just so they don't have to mess with these two. |
