If they finish 2nd in the division they open the playoffs vs the 3rd place team in the division regardless of conference standing

I thought that, with the "wild card", the first-round playoffs didn't have anything to do with the division beyond the top 3 making it. So, if the 7/8 seeds are from the Atlantic, what would the matchups be?

I have thought about this overnight all night and I can't decide if I want them to try and strive for 1st place or hold onto 2nd place.
