Agree, but at least Boumeester's speed will show well on the big ice, so I don't think he will hurt us. Nash, Carter, and Kunitz over Stlouis, Giroux, and Couture however.... I love Nash...but this year he's been mediocre at best.
I can't imagine the feelings going through Marty's head at this time...feel really bad for him and hope he's a late addition (that's allowed for injuries right?). He could retire much happier when the time comes if he has that Gold medal on his shelf. |

Yes, injuries could still force changes. |

Shaune Vetter: I Don't HATE Jay Bouwmeester
I have always maintained that I don't believe JBo should be on Team Canada. Doesn't mean I don't like him. - vetts
J bo is worthy ... That blog was crap ... Is that you cloutier ?? |

Way to back up your opinion with evidence or at least a cohesive argument...
There, that rational sentence proves I couldn't be Cloutier. |

I said it before and I'll say it again. They give what ever bullpoop explanation they can for someones inclusion or exclusion even though you can clearly claim the opposite for another. Its politics. |

That makes sense... But you forgot to insult me.
I appreciate that. |

You do make a good point guess your not cloutier
Based on the play of j bo the past two seasons should be enough evidence ... He has wheels combined with offensive ability ... Plays well defensively ... Can play pp or pk ... Can play both sides which is a huge issue when picking defenseman and he has chemistry with AP |

He has the talent. It's his lack of intensity that scares me. And his perceived complacency valid or invalid... I want a guy willing to do anything to win, not a guy who's just happy to be there. |

Not many lefties to choose from other than Keith, Seabrook lost out to 4 better righties, Nash has experience.

I just think the positives out weigh the negatives ... Big ice plays such a huge role |

Giordano.

Gio played a year in the K. He's more familiar with big ice than almost any Canadian.

Why Jbo? Keep in mind the worst case scenario is 7 games in 10 days (includes bronze game).
That's brutal, even by NHL standards. Imo, that's why he's on the team. Never injured, doesn't take penalties, incredible endurance and years of experience, always calm and takes everything in stride.
Personally, I'd like to see him with Subban. If PK can play his style without taking dumb penalties while JBo backs him up I can see PK being a real difference maker.

I wonder who is the next in line if a d man goes down ? Gio ? Boyle? Seabrook? Other ? |

PK can be a difference maker... Both ways.... we saw him cost the habs a game in Calgary.
Yeah, that Sked is tough... |

I honestly think it will depend on the way he shoots...
Gio and Seabrook for me. |

If Gio and Stlouis were added to the team, I would not make another complaint about anyone else on that team for the duration of the olympics |

I like Gio and would love him on the buds, but he's not even close to Olympic standard... |

JBo belongs without a doubt. He isn't the first player to look just above average on bad teams, but great on a good one. The idea any scrub looks good with Petro is ignorant, Blues tried a half dozen, non-looked like JBo does. Including Olympian Shattenkirk.
Oh, and Seabrook is a right hander. Might as well be an entire different position from JBo, with the team taking equal numbers on both sides. |

Sorry, but I don't think Giordano makes this team over Boyle. Seabrook is my guess for a RHD, too. |
